Summary: I ordered this unit as a replacement for a similar unit that was destroyed in a lightning storm. I received the unit promptly, had no trouble hooking everything up, but could not get a TV picture or sound to work properly. I called Onkyo who told me to replace the HDMI cable. I did this but problem was still not resolved. Onkyo told me to send the unit back. I reordered the same unit. I again had the same technical issue.
Solid, but beware if you want to use component output

Summary: I've always had good experiences with Onkyo/Integra products. The only reason I replaced my previous A/V receiver was because it couldn't handle newer technologies that have since converged with A/V (e.g. streaming content) and lacked HDMI inputs to expand it with add-on devices that only have that type of output (e.g. Roku, etc).
Summary: Cannot update firm ware. Spoke to Onkyo tech yesterday and emailed photo of error message. They are working on problem. Like most everyone else, I detest having to print out a manual of around 100 pages. And, the Manual could stand a lot of improving. I have owned three Onkyo receivers and still have the last two. They don't wear out or break. Updating to keep up with current technology. Had my last (and still have) receiver around 15 years.
Pros: All in all, still a great receiver. Does a whole lot of stuff that I will never use. Delete the manual pages for those items and the manual is reduced considerably. Easy enough to master. Set up is simple enough. Some things I did not see in the manual (yes, I did read it) but had to find out by experimenting with the remote. Still, would not buy anything else. Tried Sony and Yamaha receivers. They did not live very long. This unit has plenty of power for my JBL L100t...
Cons: Manual, remote, problem with update for firmware. Need lighted buttons on receiver or at least glow in the dark, etc.
Summary: Ease of connection and simple user interface added to the output quality of audio and video make this receiver worth the money. However, don't plan on connecting your iDevice directly thanks to Apple's AirPlay. Loose the fruit and this gets five stars!
Pros: Easy to connect, easy to use, internal processes produce clear pictures for Netflix and other streaming video
Cons: Cannot connect iPod directly through USB or any other device per Crutchfield tech support.
Summary: I waited a couple months to write this review. Within a couple weeks after delivery, this receiver started showing signs of a bad HDMI card, so I exchanged it for a replacement. Of course, Amazon handled the exchange perfectly, and I had a new receiver within 24 hours. I had to take a star away, because while we love the functionality of the receiver, the remote capabilities are nearly unusable.
Summary: A great receiver for the money, has plenty of connection options including WIFI and Bluetooth with a second Zone. Set up was easy and pretty much straight forward. I am using this unit with Polk Audio RTI series speakers and the system sounds great and is easy to use. Remote would be better if it had backlighting on the buttons and the buttons were spaced a little further apart. Other than the remote this is and exceptional unit.
Pros: Easy on screen set up and easy to use. Great value for all the included functions.
Cons: The remote needs to have backlit buttons and the buttons not so close together.
