Summary: Bought this a few months ago and it overheated and stopped working, I had nothing around it and even put an aftermarket fan on the top. Now I've been working with Onkyo warranty "support". I drove to the authorized service center waited my weeks to get it fixed which they did, and now the same issue has happened again. Looking around the web and it seems that Onkyo has had MANY problems and has an army of un-satisfied customers many with horror stories.
Do not buy this receiver... Save your money Beware

Summary: I bought this receiver 3 months ago, and now does not work, terrible, I always have bought Harman Kardon, and decided to try Onkyo, worst decison terrible product I just lost 700 bucks.. Stay away from this receiver you have to cross your fingers if you get a working unit.... Fail Onkyo..
Summary: The HDMI board went out within just over 3 months of purchase. I live 4+ hours away from the nearest service center, and Onkyo expected me to pay for packaging and shipping even though it's covered under warranty. This is the second onkyo receiver I purchased and looking back I had similar issues with the first one regarding switching. Do your research with Onkyo and HDMI.
Pros: Plenty of features
Cons: Bad HDMI technology and bad warranty/customer service.
Summary: Ordered this for my mother through Amazon. Unit never worked right. 4K pass through never worked properly, lines across the screen. No subwoofer output. Had a burnt smell coming from unit. Contacted Amazon for a return. Cost $95 to return defective item to Amazon. Ordered a Pioneer VSX-1123 and it is working fine.
Summary: Freude wird nur der erfahren, der ohne Bedienungsanleitung auskommt und beim Anschluss externer Geräte hellseherische Fähigkeiten besitzt. Großmäulig wie der Onkyo Service ist, kommen nach Tagen unbrauchbaren Antworten! H.R.
Summary: J'ai dû jeter mon TX-NR609 car la carte HDMI avait lâché 15 jours après la garantie et vu le prix de la réparation je m'étais résigné à changer. Avec le TX-NR727 je pensais avoir à faire à un ampli de meilleur qualité mais hélas il n'en n'est rien ! Installé le 29 avril il est déjà en panne !! Et qu'elle est la panne ? la carte HDMI !!
