Summary: So far I am thrilled with my purchase. I am finding that my picture quality has improved substantially from my prior unit and I'm still on 1080P. I use this receiver with my DirecTV, PS3, PS4, Wii, and even my DVD/VHS player. Set up was a breeze with the automation provided by Onkyo. I would recommend this item to anyone and the internet works great as well.
Summary: Ease of connection and simple user interface added to the output quality of audio and video make this receiver worth the money. However, don't plan on connecting your iDevice directly thanks to Apple's AirPlay. Loose the fruit and this gets five stars!
Pros: Easy to connect, easy to use, internal processes produce clear pictures for Netflix and other streaming video
Cons: Cannot connect iPod directly through USB or any other device per Crutchfield tech support.
Summary: the receiver is well provisioned for the money with features and capabilities usually found on more expensive models. the numerous HDMI inputs are very useful as is the setup sequence that it literally walks you through. so for ease of setup, sound quality, and price I give this unit a thumbs up.
This is a Top of the line Receiver - You Will Love It

Summary: I am thoroughly impressed with this receiver. I don't even have a subwoofer right now, and yet it still has ground shaking base. I have a phillips center speaker, Bose 301s for Front, and 2 Sony 8' w/ 4 1/2 tower speakers as surround. The Sonys are old-school but they rock. This receiver is the best sounding receiver that I have ever seen, and it's replacing a top of the line Sony.
Summary: Cannot update firm ware. Spoke to Onkyo tech yesterday and emailed photo of error message. They are working on problem. Like most everyone else, I detest having to print out a manual of around 100 pages. And, the Manual could stand a lot of improving. I have owned three Onkyo receivers and still have the last two. They don't wear out or break. Updating to keep up with current technology. Had my last (and still have) receiver around 15 years.
Pros: All in all, still a great receiver. Does a whole lot of stuff that I will never use. Delete the manual pages for those items and the manual is reduced considerably. Easy enough to master. Set up is simple enough. Some things I did not see in the manual (yes, I did read it) but had to find out by experimenting with the remote. Still, would not buy anything else. Tried Sony and Yamaha receivers. They did not live very long. This unit has plenty of power for my JBL L100t...
Cons: Manual, remote, problem with update for firmware. Need lighted buttons on receiver or at least glow in the dark, etc.
