Great features for the price, but not as reliable.

Summary: I am mixed on these Onkyo amps. I had a TX-NR616, which has always had buggy firmware, but I stayed with it because it has a large number of HDMI in and TWO HDMI outs. Sound quality is pretty good, and it is pretty flexible. However, it died in less than 2 years.
Summary: works well for what it does. has a few idiosyncrasies. I have discovered this is the source of the green tint on my HDTV every once in a while(power cycle fixes it). Have had the wireless and bluetooth lock up on it several times, had to disconnect to fix. Followed mfg.
Great Sound and Features, but has the dreaded DTS Bomb and digital noise problems.

Summary: Great sound and features, but it has a defect. Certain Bluray discs that use DTS-Master Audio cause problems with the receiver. It ends up emitting the dreaded DTS Bomb when pausing, unpausing, skipping chapters, or just starting up the movie once the problem has manifested itself.
Summary: Very happy so far with this receiver. Since my TV has ARC already, it is super nice to have one HDMI cable from the rcvr to TV. So no matter what I play, the sound always comes out the receiver.
Summary: Couple days old and already cutting sound off, which compared to my Pioneer Elite VSX-53 was metallic and hollow .... changed cables, same problem. Ordered because it got such high reviews and was selected the "best receiver under $500.00" well, I guess this must be exception to the quality.
Summary: I bought it in 4/2014. Today I turn on the PS4 and the Onkyo TX-NR727 has not sent image neither sound, the FM radio don't work as well. I reset the receiver as written in manual and the situation didn't change. My former Onkyo receiver work for 5 year without a problem.
