Summary: Now, after almost 3 months error message stays onscreen longer "No Signal". And the delay before switching to selected source is getting annoying. To Onkyo's credit: Tech support is prompt - diagnosed the problem as related to receiver hardware. Needs a circuit card replaced. Problem now is to box it up and send it to another state for repair. If you must buy this receiver, get the extended warranty.
The Sound is great, powerful enough for a family use

Summary: The Sound is great, powerful enough for a family use. There is no user manual, just simple connection diagram. The remote control is very bad, you have to point really to the unit to get the command. Like the StandBy mode, you can watch your TV sometime without turning on the Receiver. The USB is bogus, it cannot play videos, only audio music. Scanning the NET is useless, I had all kind of equipment on the network, did not detect any!
Onkyo 727 is a sweet set easy set up wifi and DTS AND HD ...

Summary: Onkyo 727 is a sweet set easy set up wifi and DTS AND HD DOLBY I have had a number of onkyos for the past 25 yrs ive bought yamaha pioneer elites etc during this time as well.I still prefer my onkyos for ease of use functions and of course the sweet sound and build quality they are still my favorite.
Summary: I ordered this unit as a replacement for a similar unit that was destroyed in a lightning storm. I received the unit promptly, had no trouble hooking everything up, but could not get a TV picture or sound to work properly. I called Onkyo who told me to replace the HDMI cable. I did this but problem was still not resolved. Onkyo told me to send the unit back. I reordered the same unit. I again had the same technical issue.
Summary: I owned a previous Onkyo receiver. It lasted for about 2 years before the sound died. I did some research and discovered that this was a pretty common problem with the model that I had purchased. However, it was otherwise a great receiver, so I decided to purchase this model as a replacement. I mean, 2 years later and a newer model, they obviously should have fixed the sound issues by now, right?
Solid, but beware if you want to use component output

Summary: I've always had good experiences with Onkyo/Integra products. The only reason I replaced my previous A/V receiver was because it couldn't handle newer technologies that have since converged with A/V (e.g. streaming content) and lacked HDMI inputs to expand it with add-on devices that only have that type of output (e.g. Roku, etc).
