Summary: Horrible!! ..I bought this in 2012 so my warranty is void. Here's the thing. I heard complaints about the Tx series and I thought the unit caught a virus through all the info read on the net. It's just a matter of time til that happens I taught so Inever hooks this system up to the net.

Summary: Well just like many other reviews after 2 years and 8 months the audio has completely failed. I still have video but with out audio it's now junk. I will not buy any onkyo products in the near future.
Best receiver money could buy when it came out... Budget BALLERS AMP. I absolutely LOVE my Onkyo's. I own 4 different models.

Summary: Over 2 years since I purchased this amp and my HDMI board has not had any issues. I use this amp in a 20' x 11' dedicated home theater and have never transported it. The receiver is housed in an open air, ventialted environment that is free of contaminents like dog hair, smoke, excessive dust etc.
Summary: Well, I honestly wish I wasn't bashing this product. I bought it in a departure from 2 Denon Receivers that I have had forever. The first lasted me literally 20 years and the sound was incredible.
Summary: As others have written I will do the same. I really like Onkyo - this was my second. I upgraded 3 years ago with high hopes; in fact I was impressed and enjoyed the NR709. Then about 2 weeks ago, I noticed the audio was taking a few extra seconds to click in, then finally nothing.
Summary: More problems with this unit in 2 years (sound goes out - like no sound from any source - no indication of connected speakers; constant 'second long 'flicker' where sound and picture 'disappear' for a second while watching DVD's or movies), than in 20 years with my old Onkyo unit (TXSV70PRO).
Summary: My unit also failed shortly after warranty period was over. Same HDMI sound problem as of many others who are complaining in various forums. I should have taken my time to do a proper research on these reported problems.
You get alot of power and options for a very reasonable price.

Summary: This is my 2nd Onkyo receiver and you get a lot power for a very reasonable price. The quality is top notch and will give Denon, Pioneer and other top brand receivers a run for their money. The best part of all is you can get this receiver for $200-$400 these days.
