Summary: I have long been a fan of both Integra and Onkyo products for about the past 12 years. I recently purchased the 626 based on it being a Sound and Vision Top Pick for 2013. It worked great for about a week then the audio signal dropped out of the HDMI connections. Even switching it to 2 CH PCM only didn't fix it. Had to switch it to Analog only in order to hear my 3 HDMI sources.
Summary: 99% of the 5 and 4 Star Reviewers for this receiver will return here after a few months to a year to update their original glowing review to let you know that their Onkyo Receiver no longer produces audio due to an HDMI circuit board failure. Onkyo USA uses cheap Chinese electronic components in the manufacture of receivers for the US market. The HDMI boards used WILL fail after 1-2 years of service, sometimes even sooner. This applies to ALL Receiver models.
Summary: If your using this receiver for for advanced Home Theater set up please take note. This receiver is not compatible with many Samsung smart TVs and would not sink with new Samsung 7050 65" inch smart 3D TV. Home Theater company I hired to set up theater room found out this receiver is not compatible with the PRO CONTROL REMOTE CONTROL THAT USES RF & IR FLASHERS.
Summary: Mine lasted for a little over a month and the HDMI stopped working. Sent it to Onkyo service were it arrived on Feb 28. As of today3/30 still in the shop due to NO PARTS available. Man did I make a mistake not buying another Yamaha....Also, I have called on three separate occasions were I was promised they were going to fed ex the part....they never did. Save your hard earned income and avoid Onkyo!
Summary: The remote completely stopped working after 1 month. I discovered online this has been an issue with Onkyo receivers. In the process of trying to have it replaced. The outcome will determine whether I ever buy electronics online again! First time in dozens of purchases from Amazon the product failed.
Summary: always had onkyo products since the early 80's. and loved them. nowadays there quality is very poor. 3 failed receivers in less than 2 years. this one dindnt make it 2 weeks before it quit. On the upside, amazon has a great return policy.
