Summary: Buyer's Remorse on this purchase. I bought this unit in December. I did the basic hookup and planned to complete the work in the Spring. I can't say how disappointed I am with what I discovered while trying to further setup this unit.

Summary: Only 12 months of use and it started cutting in and out and power resetting (turning itself off and on) by itself. After a few times it won't stay turned on. It powers up, goes through its startup for a few seconds and then turns off.
Summary: I should have read the reviews. The HDMI 'out' on the unit failed within 48 hours. Just stopped putting out ANY signal. I see in the reviews that this is a common problem with this particular unit: HDMI failure. However, it worked great until it went kaput.
Summary: This receiver worked fine for a couple of weeks. Then the video pass-through signal started to intermittently drop out. Now there is no video pass-through at all. I checked all sources, swapped out HDMI cables, sent sources directly to the TV. All were fine.
Summary: I've had Onkyo before and have always loved them which is why I bought this. It was perfect until just about a week ago when the sound just stops for about 3 to 4 minutes and then comes back on. It does this every 15 minutes. I have filled out 4 email forms to Onkyo, trying get support.
Summary: Get a Yamaha instead. Onkyo life has gone down the drain.
Pros: Lots of Flexibility
Cons: These units are notorious for the HDMI Board failing in 24 to 30 months, making the unit totally unusable. Pay a little more and get a Yamaha. Yamaha A820 is a much more reliable unit. Onkyo quality has gone down the drain.
