Summary: This receiver really delivers, we had the previous model which was nice but this new series has many more options and the sound is phenomenal. Using the remote is not necessary as the unit works with most smart phones which never leave our side these days and the Bluetooth streaming option is great for music. I highly recommend this receiver as it delivers great value for the price.
Summary: Replaced my 12 years old Nakamichi AV-10 with Onkyo TX-NR626 this week. Was very content with the Nakamichi, but a few source buttons were sticking, and back RCA plugs have become loose. What a great little receiver, with internet radio TuneInRadio and Pandora, as well as Bluetooth audio streaming from laptop. Changing out the receiving, the first most noticeable difference is that the Nak is 35#, and the Onkyo is 25# only and the weight difference is noticeable.
Summary: I love the fact that this receiver has anything you could ask for. Even though I'm not using a 7.2 set up, the option is there if I decide to go that way in the future. Onkyo has been making receivers of legendary quality for years, but what attracted me the most was the amount of online streaming media you could access with this receiver. Pandora, Spotify, Last fm are just a few of the options available.
Summary: This AV receiver is wonderful. Fully meets my expectations. It was easy to setup and very easy to integrate into my universal remote. The 2 zone feature and turntable input satisfies my entertainment requirements completely.
Summary: I have had 2 Onkyo AV receivers go bad on me shortly after the 2-year warranty expired. Both receivers had HDMI board problems, which is a very common problem. Apparently Onkyo uses cheap capacitors that don't last long. Many people have been burned, just Google 'onkyo bad hdmi'. I will never buy Onkyo again, and will tell all my friends, coworkers, and church members about this. From now on it's Denon or Yamaha for me.
Summary: I love this AV receiver. It is really easy to set up compared to my previous Denon receivers. The network port was my main reason for getting this one because software can be updated on it to make it better and better. I love that feature. The sound and video looks great too.
Summary: The receiver works good. The sound is pretty good. The bluetooth and internet menus are difficult to navigate. Also, the Audyssey will work for me b/c i only have 5 speakers and I cannot find an option to tell it to use 5 speakers instead of 7. It gives me an error each time b/c it cannot find 7 speakers.
Zone 2: What The Large Print Gives, The Fine Print Takes Away
Mark Costa "Product Geek", Amazon
10 November 2013
Summary: After a long frustrating day this item is going back. The product description declares: "Powered Zone 2 and Zone 2 Line-Out for Distributed Audio Playback in Another Room" Perfect! This is what I want and need! Hurrah! An Amp that comes pre-programed with remote codes for the AppleTV, gets great reviews, and can support the two bookshelf speakers in our kitchen in addition to the 5.1 Channel AV setup in our living room.
