Summary: This receiver had most all of the features I was looking for in a home theater receiver. 7.1, HDMI support from multiple sources, nice sound when listening to music, ability to hook up an iPod to the USB port and ability to add HD radio through the Port input. Unfortunately, the receiver has a lot of bugs that have not been addressed with firmware updates. Network streaming works well once you get logged in and I like the display on the TV. Sound setup is easy.

Summary: We've been using this receiver in our main TV watching room and drives a 7.1 speaker setup for about the past six months. It also drives two outdoor speakers on the patio on zone 2. I'm very happy with the sound quality and general functionality of this receiver. For the pricepoint, it is serving us well. However, it's not perfect.
Summary: Purchased this product in at the bgining of November 2011. Has worked great and very pleased. But then I have started receiving flickering and problems with the video. This has not been consistent but happens off and on now for a month and from what I have read this is common. So it will be a matter of time before the video goes out and I have to get this repaired.
Summary: I am giving this product 3 stars due to the technical issues I've had after 2 months of use. This receiver has all the features I was looking for at great price. I am not going to list the features again as many other reviewers have already done and you can easily find them by reading the product description. The quality of sound and picture is great; of course, the sound quality will depend on the type of speakers used.
Summary: I was excited getting this unit expecting a great experience. It does have a steep leaning curve, nothing the manual doesn't cover. Much of my use will be Zone 2 audio out for my whole house stereo speakers. The first unit received Zone 2 output was DOA on both powered and un-powered outputs. When I received the 2nd unit, Zone 2 again didn't output until I changed to the Net source. In the manual it states that a digital input will not output to Zone 2.
Summary: Well over all this product has worked well. Only real issue I have is the calibration mode does not work correctly and has stopped working. When I set it up the first time it worked great. Then the speaker levels went down all by them selves a couple of days later. Performed level calibration again and all the speaker DB'S remained turned way done.
Summary: I bought this item for my new meadia room in May of last year. I used the receiver once or twice every weekend for a few hours. A few weeks ago the HDMI output stopped working. I really liked this receiver along with my projector and Klipsh speakers. I am dropping this item off to a local Onkyo service center for repair. How long before the HDMI board goes out again? Searching other options for HDMI input and output. Any suggestions for a new receiver?
Summary: needed a cheap receiver for 3d HDMI signal, and thats what i got. Would probably spendd a few more bucks on a better reciever next time but it does do the 3d signal good. really theonly problem is the sound quality and it may be user error but I doubt it, just not as loud or clear as my older onkyo reciever.
Pros: Plays will with my Tv that is all I can say.
Cons: THE SUPPORT COULD NOT BE ANY WORSE. I have a PS3 and every time I go to use it withe the 609 I have to go back and forth from game to dvd button until it clears up.It is like I have to track it just like the old VCR's .
Summary: I would probably rate this a 3 1/2 but I'll round down thanks to a number of negatives. First up this is a decent looking receiver. The form factor is like just about every other receiver you have ever seen. Black, a few buttons, and a few ports on the front. The volume knob has a blue light which looks great. The text on the display is green and looks like something from 1989. We are talking very very basic here. I like the sparseness of the back.
