Pros: Works great when it works. The sound output goes out entirely for all channels. Even out of warranty Onkyo has recognized this issue is widespread. If your unit was shipped within a certain date you can still get it fixed for free. On their website there is a place to enter your part number to se...
Summary: This receiver had most all of the features I was looking for in a home theater receiver. 7.1, HDMI support from multiple sources, nice sound when listening to music, ability to hook up an iPod to the USB port and ability to add HD radio through the Port input.
Pros: I bought one over a year ago and loved it so much I bought another. I was not impressed with the reviews on the TX-NR616 so went with this.
Cons: The box showed up with a boot sized hole, and one of the styrofoam supports inside crushed. The unit looked OK and powered on but the HDMI inputs were all dead. Sent it back for a refund. I must have got the last one because they are discontinued now. Maybe I'll try a Yamaha this time.
Summary: Purchased this product in at the bgining of November 2011. Has worked great and very pleased. But then I have started receiving flickering and problems with the video. This has not been consistent but happens off and on now for a month and from what I have read this is common.
Summary: I was excited getting this unit expecting a great experience. It does have a steep leaning curve, nothing the manual doesn't cover. Much of my use will be Zone 2 audio out for my whole house stereo speakers. The first unit received Zone 2 output was DOA on both powered and un-powered outputs.
Pros: Full functions with plenty of options.
Cons: NET source screen saver function missing. Remote has a lag.
Cons: Some things I didn't like in order of annoyance - Slow to boot up (60 seconds? - too long I really hate slow devices - this should be a really simple device to boot - might need a faster chip for $10 but I'd have paid extra for that). The Onkyo WiFi dongle can't even stream pandora without skippi...
Summary: This unit should be plan B if you are going to buy a reciver. I whould look at some others first. I have call the company left my phone along with the problem. Been 4 days now no return. I call back 1/7/12. This time it would not let me leave a number.
Pros: Plays will with my Tv that is all I can say.
Cons: THE SUPPORT COULD NOT BE ANY WORSE. I have a PS3 and every time I go to use it withe the 609 I have to go back and forth from game to dvd button until it clears up.It is like I have to track it just like the old VCR's .
Summary: I'm giving an update on this receiver; slightly changing my previous review. I've been using the receiver for the past 4 months all in all is wonderful! Great to have as a starter receiver to drive low-end speakers.
Pros: -Incredible Sound quality -Easy to use on-screen menus -Everything else except...
Pros: Has lot's of nice options. I think I will happy with this receiver!
Cons: Ok, so I purchased a PSW10 sub... the big question... HOW DO I CONNECT IT TO MY RECEIVER? I like to think that I know a lot about technology, but I just can't figure it out! The receiver has the following outputs: Purple "subwoofer" out, and a Purple "pre-out." My PSW10 has the following inputs: ...
