Do yourself a favour and get the TP-Link wireless adapter for this

Summary: I have last year's nearly identical model (the TX-NR5009). We use the receiver to power 2 other zones (as powered-zones vs pre-amped unpowered). When the speakers in the other 2 zones (in addition to main room) are all on and at higher levels, it does cause the receiver to power off - maybe too many...
Beware that Onkyo AV receivers have well-known HDMI board problems

Summary: For what it's worth -- I also have had problems with my TX-NR5008 (previous flagship model). The sound dies after about two years due to a well-known HDMI board failure issue. It's now happened to me twice. But don't take my word for it, Google it and decide for yourself.
Summary: I purchased the 5010 to replace my earlier Onkyo TX-NR5007 that was cursed from the start. Onkyo treated me well with free, after-warranty service on the 5007, and I liked the similar app-based remote control and streaming features I had grown to like with my TX-NR616, so I pulled the trigger.
Summary: I had thought about getting a new AV Receiver for a long, long time. I'd had several down through the years... mostly Onkyo's of various stripes. My then current receiver in my main living room system was the venerable Onkyo TX-NR905 that I'd bought used off the Bay almost 7 years ago.
Pros: Extremely Flexible. Torroidal Power. Relatively Easy to Set Up. Powered Zone 2 for ALL Inputs!
Cons: Heavy as all get out. Does NOT have the most popular streaming channels. Still have to have a WiFi Dongle to Connect to the Net or Home Network
Summary: Well i did not buy this receiver from amazon, i picked it from a onkyo distributor where i live by. Just wanted to share my review about this awesome receiver, using a 7.1 channel setup with Focal audio Chorus 836V, Chorus SR 800 V, Chorus CC 800 V, Chorus SW 800 V , i have to admit never had the...
Summary: Great flexibility at the center of my home theater system. This replaced an Onkyo 806 receiver because of the additional power, internet connectivity, and ability to bi-amp the Magnepan 1.6 front speakers which are power hungry and 4 ohm.
Pros: The top Audyssey signal processing 9 channel power amp Flexible connection options
Summary: I find it interesting that so many people have down voted my review here. Wouldn't others like to know the truth concerning others experiences with a company and their products? Anyway - I bought the 5008 from Amazon in May 2010. ~2 years later - no sound.
Summary: Great sound with movies and music. There is just one thing I have found wrong. When I set the Video to Custom, the picture is not solid. There is a flicker when there is a fast motion. It's kind of hard to explain. You'll need to see it to understand what I mean by "not solid".
Summary: This is my first Onkyo Receiver. I purchased it because I was looking for the cutting edge and wanted it to be THX certified. The TX-NR5010 is all that and more. Word to the wise this unit is heavy but, how else are they suppose to put all these great tech goodies in one box?
Pros: Flexiblity, Power, 4K Scaling, THX, Toridal Power Supply, Easy to use interface, 11.2 capable, HD Radio.
