Onkyo TX-NR5007

CNET
5 March 2010
  • Summary: The Onkyo TX-NR5007 is certainly expensive, but it competes with other companies' products that cost much more. Incredibly powerful, it retains its audio fidelity no matter how hard you drive it. It's ideally suited to people with dedicated home-cinema rooms, plenty of space and a video projector, but it's also wonderful in smaller rooms -- just don't turn the volume up too high, as we suspect it can demolish walls
  • Pros: Excellent sound quality; attractive design; great build quality; plenty of connectivity options; flexible.
  • Cons: Expensive; very large and heavy.

  • Excerpt: Where normally we’d quote a simple figure to specify the power output for this receiver, unfortunately, the way Onkyo specifies this makes it hard to extract a figure we consider both useful and plausible. The figure it gives — 145W per channel into eight ohms from 20 to 20,000 hertz at no more than 0.05% THD — is apparently for the ‘North American’ model. For ‘Others’ the claim is ‘9ch x 220W at 6 ohms, 1 kHz, 1 ch driven (IEC)’.

Onkyo TX-NR5007: teurer 9.2-AV-Receiver mit gigantischem Sound

CNET
7 July 2010
