Summary: It's always great to see a product engineered to be best in its class. The engineers who designed this product made it easy to use, added inputs and features to have just the ones you want but nothing that you don't need, and made it the best it could be for the price it costs. You can plug this in and get it working easily--great sound comes out with little effort.
Summary: Had problems with this already. It would "freeze up" on the settings menu. Had to send it in for repair and so far it has not given me any problems. Amazon would not let me return it because I had it for 6 months, even though I had just got around to unboxing it and hooking it up. But I understand -they have clearly stated policies on returns and have to go by them.
Summary: I have been using this receiver for about a year now. I haven't had any problems. I am very happy with this receiver. Onkyo makes great products. I am very happy with this receiver. Comes with a 2 year warranty. Thank you Onkyo.
Onkyo HT-RC370, supposedly a great Receiver... HORRIBLE INSTRUCTIONS, Nothing but endless frustrations...

Summary: After researching the Onkyo HT-RC370 A/V Receiver endlessly, I finally decided to purchase it because of the glowing reviews. UNFORTUNATELY, after owning it for a year, I have to admit that I am quite disappointed. While other people seem to have no problem setting up the receiver I seem to struggle terribly. While this MIGHT be a great unit, so far it has been nothing but a pain the DIRECTIONS/MANUEL are a nightmare to understand.
Summary: bought the HT-RC370 with energy speakers and now I'm in musical heaven. I was blown away watching Lord of the Rings in THX Cinema mode. I highly recommend the HT-RC370 + Energy Take Classic 5.1 combo. Love the iPhone app for the receiver and is a great way to work this baby! Very good set of music streaming options. Use spotify all the time on the receiver and the streams are high quality.
OK, but not a significant upgrade over my old TX-SR501 receiver

Summary: I purchased this receiver as an upgrade to my ~8 year old Onkyo TX-SR501 which I've been using along with a separate piece of hardware that performed HDMI switching duties for my 5.1 home theater setup. My speaker setup consists of a mix of Wharfedale and Definitive Technology components and, after I ran the built-in HT-RC370 Audyssey, I was disappointed to discover that the sound quality over my old system was not significant enough to justify my purchase.
Summary: I just upgraded from a Yamaha to an Onkyo receiver and I can not believe the difference in the sound. I adjusted, tweaked, calibrated turned and push just about everything I could to get the sound I wanted on my yamaha. I decided that I would replace my 100 watt three way speakers if this Onkyo receiver did not deliver. After reading the reviews on my speakers people complained about the tweeters.
Summary: I have an Onkyo TX-SR508, which, luckily it turns out, evaluating the unit only, has been 5*++ for a year (no warranty contact needed), so was considering purchasing a HT-RC370 for upstairs. While researching the unit I came across the flat Onkyo statement on their web site that purchasing from any online site other than the ones listed there would void the warranty.
