Summary: Hey, just wanted to add my 2 cents on this A/V receiver. I was thoroughly satisfied with this product. It has great features; it pushes my 2 passive 12" speakers. It has a lot of settings. Good automatic setting for different sources so that you don't have to change the way the sound setting for each source. The number of HDMI's are a plus, even though I don't know if I would need all of those inputs in the future. The sound is great.
Summary: This receiver is an exceptional value for this price range. You get a ton of features including some that you can't find on comparably price Yamaha's, Denon's, or Sony's. For example, this receiver supports HDMI 1.4 with 3-D and return audio which can't be found on a slightly more expensive Yamaha unit. The RC260 is presumably based on the SR608 but lacks VGA (who cares), THX certification, and the Sirius input.
Summary: I want to start off by saying that i'm no audiophile and that i don't have super fantastic speakers so this review won't be commenting on the nuances of sound quality of this receiver. But lets face it, if you are only spending $350.00 on a receiver, you are looking for a good receiver, not one that is going to blow you out of the water. That being said... The Onkyo was delivered in one day (thanks Amazon Prime) and came well packaged.
Very flexible receiver for a very good price (CAUTION)

Summary: The world of home theater has come a long way in the last few years. It wasn't too long ago that $350 would get you only a bare-bones receiver. Now it will get you a unit that will cover most needs of a medium-sized setup. Your basic 5.1 is easily covered, as long as you have a powered subwoofer.
Summary: I gave this only 3 stars because of the lack of Onkyo support and distance to the closest authorized Onkyo repair shop. I have had this unit for 2+ years and have been mostly satisfied with its performance. About a month ago it started clicking a couple of times before it would turn on. Each day the number of clicks increased until it finally just clicked and refused to turn on. The closest Onkyo is 400 miles away from me.
Summary: Amazingly priced, this Onkyo is now providing MORE than ample sound in a home theatre application with a 52 inch LED HD TV. Combined with a powered subwoofer, the package creates sound pressure levels equal to commercial movie theatres without the slightest hint of distortion or over driving.

Summary: As someone who started collecting vinyl LP records in the 1960s, then audiocassettes in the 70s and 80s, VHS tapes in the 80s, then CDs in the 90s, and DVDs in the 00's, I have a large amount of content in the various media. The hardware needed to play this media includes not only turntable, tape deck, VCR, CD and DVD player, and cable box, but a computer with a high end sound card that provides access to a gigantic high quality online music collection called Rhapsody,...
Summary: The first receiver died within a week of arrival. Contacted Amazon and they immediately sent a replacement. I've had this now for over a year. Great product, plenty of options (HDMI, RCA - inputs) to satisfy all but the most obsessive home theater folks. Plus: Upscales video, plenty of inputs, quite easy setup I would have given a 5-star except for the return/exchange. The product is worth the money.
