  • Summary: Re: my criticism below about the headphone amp -- User error -- I missed the instruction about needing to switch to a preset which uses front speakers as Large, so I was missing out on the bass below the crossover, and my subs were merrily playing away, unheard :) -- the headphone amp is very good

Spectacular!

  • Summary: I made a mistake a few years ago by giving in and crossing over the "quality/convenience line", drank the Kool Aid and got an upper-mid-range Swiss Army Knife AVR. While the bells & whistles seemed great at the time, the bottom line was that I was really passing through very average sound from a lot of sources. The NAD T787 is at the opposite end of the spectrum.
  • Pros: Incredible Sound, Built like a tank, Intelligent Video design (eliminates double-processing), MDC upgrade options, more intuitive and flexible operation than expected, quality connections -- with so much clean power in reserve, is excellent in small or large rooms, at low or high volumes
  • Cons: not really a con, but actually seems even heavier than it is because the weight all on one side, so careful with racks/stands -- the headphone jack a bit disappointing, not much oomph compared to the rest of the unit -- more flexibility with Zones would have been a nice touch

sound at its finest

  • Summary: This reciever from NAD is their Flagship model. I love this unit because it's a powerplant. Dual toroidal transformers lie at the heart of this beast to power the speakers. They can be 4 ohm or 8 or 16 ohm. One transformer is just for the speakers 150 X2 watts and 120 x7 watts in surround. At 56 pounds it's no cheap box store receiver. This reciever lives up to NAD'S philosophy of music first.
  • Pros: Ease of use. Sound quality built like a tank construction.
  • Cons: Price but hey its worth it. No net streaming apps but it's NAD they do music first so others take a back seat.

  • Summary: Helt otroligt kraft i denna jämfört med min gamla NAD T753. Därav 9/10 i betyg.
