Summary: This is my second NAD amp, and it' just as impressive as the first one. The wattage rating is conservative and the purity of sound is as good as it gets. I don't think you can do better, especially at the price.
Summary: Powering PSB Synchrony two speakers that require a lot of juice, this NAD is up to the task. This isn't a world-tackling amp, but it doesn't interfere with my speaker performance. I got the onboard DAC and play my music through the USB on my macbook from lossless files on itunes.
Summary: I have a pair of PSBs that where under powered and under appreciated by a middle of the road Yamaha amp. I purchased the NAD C 356BEE and I feel like I am hearing my speakers for the first time. I am filling a pretty big space and I have no problem doing that. Sound is clean, crisp and natural.
Pros: Great sound reproduction at low volume.
Clean crisp midrange sound.
Summary: Got this amp a few weeks ago, and was a little apprehensive that it was very light on tone controls and sound processors. After many hours of listening with vinyl, media players, and NAD's separate AM/FM tuner, I have found that I don't even use the tone controls it comes with.
Pros: Perfectly balanced sound and plenty of clean power.
Summary: Very happy with the unit. It replaces an Outlaw RR2150 that took a surge in a storm. The sound is much less fatiguing than the Outlaw. I am using it with Wharfdale towers, moon LP3 phono preamp, Music Hall 5.1 turntable and it sounds great. I am very pleased with unit.
Summary: With all the hype surrounding this receiver I really thought I may be missing something with my Yamaha R-S 700. Despite all the rave reviews, the build quality of the NAD was rather cheap, (even the balance control knob was slightly off center. I subtracted a star for that).
Pros: Lots of power.
Cons: Cheesy looks and fair build quality. Average sound at best.
Summary: After running what I thought were excellent vintage / semi vintage components (Marantz receiver as preamp to Sony ES power amp) the new NAD C356BEE literally blew up my most optimistic estimation of what a new amplifier would do for my sound quality.
Cons: Buttons a little difficult to read.
Not your most stylish boutique amp but I wouldn't change it for anything the way it delivers sound quality.
