Best integrated amp you can afford.

  • Summary: I owned an NAD integrated amp from the late 80s. Very happy but it started making noises/channels dropping, so time for replacement. This is better than that unit in following: nicer switches (metal) except for volume knob, while plastic as in my old unit, tries to look like metal and the damping is a bit cheap-feeling. Too bad. Other real metal switches are very nice in contrast. Robust construction. Sound flawless, clean. Nice design overall, minimal.

sounds good, but one big drawback

  • Summary: I've always liked NAD products, and the 356BEE sounds good, but I was really surprised I had to buy a separate amp to hook up a turntable.
  • Pros: NAD always seems to offer quality sound.
  • Cons: No turntable hookup without another purchase. Nowhere in the owner's manual does it say where to plug in the sub.

Simpley Awesome

  • Summary: First off let me start with I was replacing a 25 year old medium end JVC receiver driving new Klipsch R7 speakers. I originally ordered the Marantz PM8004 that was $200 more. Due to a misunderstanding with the Crutchfield advisor the tape output is not a loop and would not drive my EQ or DBX. I called them up and before I even had the Maranze boxed and ready to send back the NAD was on the way. The NAD has a preamp out loop that allows it to drive my ancillary equipment.
  • Pros: Cost. A value based price; Amazing sound; Superb customer service; Simple to install and run.
  • Cons: Integrated DAC module does not run I-devices; could drive the bass a bit harder

  • Summary: The most powerful amp I've heard. I barely have to turn the volume up at all on this thing before It gets really loud. Sound Is clean and accurate. I've owned Sony, Onkyo and Denon amps in the past and NAD blows them away!
  • Pros: plenty of power
  • Cons: can't think of any

  • Summary: I purchased this to replace my old Denon amp from 1985? It is very nice.... It does everything pretty well. Not outsanding anywhere but that's just fine with me... It completely stays out of the way of the muisc. You can listen all day long to this amp.
  • Pros: Nice neutral sound
  • Cons: none so far:)

Impressive Upgrade!

  • Summary: I have owned various NAD products for many years. This amplifier replaced my NAD C160 preamp and C270 120W power amp mainly due to space considerations. What a significant upgrade! This is a heavy and very well made product that clearly outperforms my more expensive much older components. The sound stage is wider with more air between instruments. Localization of instruments is much clearer.
  • Pros: Impressive sound quality and listenability. Music is just better! Appearance, size, and blue lights for each input selector button. Very nice remote that can be used for all NAD components, including Blu Ray and CD players.
  • Cons: The amp seems to run cooler than many but the top needs good ventilation space. Be careful when stacking components on the amp.

Didn't think I'd be this Impressived

  • Summary: I have been an audiophile all of my life. I couldn't be happier having purchased this amp. Of course, the speakers are as important as the amp and connecting several sets of speakers to it, I was pleased with the clarity and lack of distortion that I heard. From my top of the line Paradism speakers to an old set of Pioneer 99A (40+years old) speakers, the sound is phenomenal.
  • Pros: Powerful enough to drive my speakers, with low distortion.
  • Cons: You can't hook up a sub-woofer, but my 99A Pioneers have 15" woofers so I'm OK without it. However, this could be a real issue for most other speakers.

Solid Integrated

  • Summary: Very happy with the unit. It replaces an Outlaw RR2150 that took a surge in a storm. The sound is much less fatiguing than the Outlaw. I am using it with Wharfdale towers, moon LP3 phono preamp, Music Hall 5.1 turntable and it sounds great. I am very pleased with unit. On another note, I purchased a scratch and dent unit and I am very happy with the unit's condition. The only blemish was on the remote. Very satisfied .
  • Pros: Clean power, neutral sound.
  • Cons: None
