Summary: A few days after my brother's early retirement, he asked me to put together a “no-compromise” audio system for his modest home in the desert. These were his goals in order of priority: 1. Superb 2-channel audio performance 2. Excellent Home Theater duties 3.
A friend recommended Marantz but this system is nothing but a headache

Summary: I have had this unit for about a year and recently had to have it repaired because it stopped outputting video and audio. It took 6+ weeks to get it repaired and I believe the replaced the digital board (not sure what that is). I've had it back for about a month now and I am having the same problem.
Summary: I've installed a large network of Marantz amps in a large home. The area covered is large, and I liked the scalability of the Marantz amp series. I installed 3 SR5008 amps, 1 NR1504 and the beast, SR7008.
Summary: I replaced an older model that would shut off intermittently but had more features than the new one which does not have AC outlets on back or a connection for fans that was also on old model .
Summary: I initially purchased a Yamaha RX-V675 because it got really great reviews. It turns out that I wasn't happy with the sound so I went searching for that better sound. I ended up with the Marantz SR7008 and couldn't be happier. The sound clarity is awesome. Stereo sound for music is awesome.
Summary: Marantz has my vote for sound quality and I absolutely love the sound this receiver. I had purchased a Pioneer Elite and wasn't happy with it. The features were not intuitive, interface was clumsy and the sound wasn't anything to write home about.
