Summary: The Marantz SR7007 receiver is tall and looks elegantly. Its weight is on the light side at 28 lbs. The hook up is straight forward. It is a surprise that the sound is very different from the warm sounding of older Marantz receiver that I was used too. The sound is bright, spacious. Voice has lots of presence which is nice for movie. However, the bass is loose and lacking. For movie it sounds decent/good with lots of dymanics, but low effect is rather unimpressed.
Summary: I have mixed feeling about this receiver,125 watts RMS no way, Sounds about like 75 watts RMS my old Sony str da4300es blows this receiver away in power and clarity. The Sony has about 50% more output then this one and thats rated a 100 watt RMS. As far as video quality pass through that's good.
Cons: Output power, Music clarity is not up to par.
Summary: A little context. I previously had a dedicated 2-channel system only for music, and did not have an especially good system attached to our TV. I purchased the SR7007 to create a single music listening and video watching system. I would say that the result is average, good but not great, with some specific things that are really annoying. ▹ First the plusses. - The video quality from a variety of different video sources is really very good.
Summary: Wonderful audio and easy set up. After one year, it started shutting down by itself for no reason. I tried playing the audio extremely low, it would stay running longer but would still shut down. I was playing it so low I could barely hear the tv. Lets see how good the warranty is. I bought this unit here.
Summary: This receiver looks superb and the build quality is awesome. I upgraded from an older Pioneer Elite to this model and I initially thought it sounded just as good if not better. When it comes to audio, I truly thought it sounded much better. After few days, I watched a concert video at -5db volume and the unit just turned off due to overheating. I thought it was the cabinet that trapped the heat and opened the unit up to open space.
Summary: I was advised by Crutchfield that the Marantz SR7007 would provide sufficient power for the Polk RIiA7 speakers I purchased. I used biamp wiring and still must turn the Marantz to full volume to get sufficient base out put. I'm a little disappointed considering I spent so much money for this rig.
Pros: good looks for the speakers Polk RTiA7- Marantz has plenty of hook ups for accessories but lacks dock port for MPI device
Cons: Marantz SR7007 lacks power to drive Polk RTiA7 speakers
Summary: I have a Denon AVR 2809 and last week it failed completely. Here in Brasil is difficult to get fix it. I was looking for another receiver but I don't understand why there is a LOT OF CONNECTIONS in all great receivers!!! All I need is good power (7 channels over 120 RMS each ) and three inputs HDMI and two outputs HDMI. Maybe some few more connections, very few!!! When someone will make one like this I need? The price won't fall a lot ???
Summary: Looks: In my opinion it is form over function. The unit looks great with the drop down front cover. Within the first day of use the cover does not seem to close properly, it is misaligned. It is held together by cheap looking plastic clips. To see the main display you need to open it. It always seems to be in the way; Menu & Set up: Not the easiest. The manual was on cd rom (a hassle if you computer does not have a DVD) but you can find as a pdf on marantz website.
