This Marantz amplifier is perfect to upgrade old stereo components
6 January 2013
Summary: I bought this amplifier to replace two older amplifiers (one stereo and one 5.1 channel,) replace an AM/FM tuner that wasn't working well, connect my Phonograph record player and connect it to my new TV via HDMI. This unit works wonderful. I am able to feed all of my stereo devices through this and output them to the stereo Z2 output. It has done everything that I wanted perfectly. I now have stereo through out the house and 5.1 stereo at the new TV.
Summary: I have had the receiver for almost 1.5 year now and there is a newer version of it but it is still a solid choice. I was running my Denon 4802 for about 10 years and finally decided to upgrade to an HDMI switching receiver. I thought about another Denon but love the sound of my Marantz receiver I am running in another/smaller room, SR5003, and thought I would give them a close look as well. Long story short, I settle on the SR7005.
