Summary: This receiver is fantastic - the sound system sounds so much better using this as compared to our old one. The speakers we have are the 5.1 - and we can't seem to get the outdoor speakers to work properly - even had a tech out - the unit seems to read the outdoor speaker as the 2 speakers to make it a 7.1 --- still trying to figure that one out.
Summary: I'm not into super long reviews so here you go! Pros: Great Pass Through for Audio and Video 6 HDMI inputs (I actually need 7 or 8, but oh well) Video conversion on the fly with audio delay match - My PS3 won't play directly into my old LG TV 1080i at all. Everyone with my TV has this problem. This receiver converts video/audio on the fly and allows it to play. awesome Match with Aperion speakers for the real deal sound quality Cons: Its a bit bulky.
Summary: and Good Looking too. Bought this in March to replaced a dying Onkyo receiver. Saved about $400 by getting this, "last year's model" over the SR7007. Plenty of inputs and speaker connections, like that it has both HDMI and analog inputs for those of us who can't part with our old VHS players. Sounds great when cranked up, seems to have more than adequate headroom for most modern speakers.
Summary: I was replacing an old Marantz receiver because i was upgrading my projector. The old unit did not have HDMI out puts, but the quality of the receiver was great. I went with the same brand and was happy I did. It was easy to set up and the sound quality is great.
Summary: I picked up a refurbished unit last month to replace an aging HK that was developing a feedback issue(s) on the analog inputs and then the digital inputs started picking up some white noise maybe from the video board.... Paid 899. We have a 3D panasonic plasma, polks front, surround and center, klipsch for the wides (the height speaker set up was not liked by all), sony center speakers for the back surrounds and a cherwin vega and polk subs.

Summary: About three months ago, I up-graded from an Onkyo SR-805 that I've had for about three years to a Marantz SR7005. Even though the specs for both Amps read almost identical, O.M.G. what a difference in sound quality. To give you an idea of what this amp is driving, I have 7 JBL Es100s (48"H X 14"W X 18"D. They consist of two 10" woofers, a 6" mid, a 4" tweeter and a 3" super tweeter. They can handle 200W and the range on them is 10 to 40k Hz's.
Summary: This receiver fills the bill for us! The set up program with the microphone that allowed 8 key locations for set up consideration produced a Great Sound! The technology allowed me to deliver a Great result for the Home Theater Room!
This Marantz amplifier is perfect to upgrade old stereo components
6 January 2013
Summary: I bought this amplifier to replace two older amplifiers (one stereo and one 5.1 channel,) replace an AM/FM tuner that wasn't working well, connect my Phonograph record player and connect it to my new TV via HDMI. This unit works wonderful. I am able to feed all of my stereo devices through this and output them to the stereo Z2 output. It has done everything that I wanted perfectly. I now have stereo through out the house and 5.1 stereo at the new TV.
