Summary: This receiver together with my JBL speakers are by far the best sound system I have ever heard. It has a second zone feature. The quality is unsurpased. The sound is crispy clear, listening to DTS movies is really a pleasure to listen to.
I Thought My Brain Was Going To Melt, But I Like Marantz Regardless.

Summary: I must confess to all that will hear me, I'm an Onkyo addict. It's been at times a secret addiction for 9 years and with the help of online reviews and family, I'm now recovering. Well not completely. My Onkyo 605 A/V receiver is in the other room. I'm going to use it when I get the addictive cravings for booming bass that shakes the walls and rattles change sitting helplessly on nearby desks.
Summary: I'm a die-hard Denon fan. When I had the chance to pick up this Marantz (Denon sister brand) at a steal of a price I jumped on it. I love the unit. The quality is second to none. The audio is phenomenal. I feel like I'm cheating on my Denon with this unit, but the sound is a little better in my opinion, and that says a lot because I still love Denon.
Summary: It works perfectly. I have it in a confined space so I plugged a little $5 fan in the extra AC port in the back of the receiver, so it comes on when the receiver comes on. Its not the easiest to set up but sounds great when you do.
Summary: I had been watching this receiver since it came out in 2008. My HK 635 does not support HDMI and it was time for an upgrade. Because I don't see 3d in my future, I just purchased this receiver a few weeks ago (in 2010) - at a great price. First, this is an amazing product. Very high quality and stunning sound. Set up was typical for this level of receiver although I wish it had a more modern interface. However, the sub $600 price was worth the sacrifice.
Summary: My Dad bought a Marantz as his "big purchase" for himself when he graduated college, 30+ years ago. And now, few brand names carry as much weight with him as does the name "Marantz". The quality of that brushed steel beast is still evident today when you listen to it, the glowing green display, huge, precise dials... I can't believe the price on this, now $600! It leaves me feeling kind of sad for those who paid the MSRP of $1,300+ for this, well... not that sad :).
A Steal at this price - great sound and build quality

Summary: This is my second Marantz receiver, and I have been extremely happy with the first (an SR4600). I jumped on this deal when I saw it, because the unit is marked down by over 50% of MSRP, and offered significantly more power than my older model, plus HDMI and support of the latest surround codecs (DTS-HD and DD-HD). I have been using it for about two months and I am very satisfied with the purchase, allowing for some minor caveats.
