Summary: Works perfectly. Not oversized, and doesn't really produce too much heat, as compared to some others. But the end result is how it sounds... And it lives up to Marantz's name. Pair this with some good Bi-amp fronts, sub, center and surrounds, and forget that its there.
Summary: I am familiar with Marantz as I had a SR5005 for two years. Great sounding piece but it was missing the modern features that I wanted. I sold the SR5005 and bought a Yamaha RX-V673. It had all the features I wanted but it was such a step down in sound quality that I only kept it for 7 weeks. So I sold the Yamaha and was looking at last year's SR6007 or the Denon AVR-3313CI. I went to my dealer to see if they had any deals on open box SR6007 but they didn't have any.
Pros: Great looks, great sound, very easy to set up, 3 year warranty
Cons: Price, remote is not backlit, no Audyssey XT32
Summary: Very good sound quality. Slightly flimsy speaker connections. AirPlay feature is worthless without a wired network connection. I had to purchase an Apple Airport Express to use the airplay feature. Oh, the airport has AirPlay built in! No reason to have it in the receiver! Pros Reasonable price Great sound Flexibility in setup Cons Lack of subwoofer when in direct audio mode No wireless Cheap binding post No sub in direct mode (I know the sub crossover doesn't fit in the...
Summary: The receiver was everything as advertised and more. It was easy to hook up and to calibrate the speakers. You can listen to a different station on zone 2 than zone 1. It can be controlled through Airplay with an Apple or Android device. The on screen information makes setup and changes very easy.
Summary: My Onkyo TX NR-708 took a dive on me 3 months after the 2 yr. warranty expired, they refused to do anything at corporate; So GOODBYE ONKYO! I am a Sirius XM Lifetime Subscriber; Which limits me to only a few manufacturers to be able to login directly. Denon, Onkyo, & Marantz that I know of. I tried the Denon X4000, it had issues with networking and Media Serving. Then I listened to the Marantz 5008 at the Mag Store. The SOUND QUALITY is AMAZING.7.2 CH.
Pros: SiriusXM login, simplistic Design with Tons of Connections, Audyssey Multi EQ XT and DSX
Cons: I cheated myself for years by overlooking this Brand
Summary: Phenomenal sound/audio quality and all the advanced video handling (4k) capabilities. This receiver also has a plethora of HDMI inputs that can handle tons of components. The build and sound quality are much better than the Yamaha I was previously using. A great addition to any home theater setup.
Pros: Audio processing, video capability, build quality
Summary: After a fair amount of research finally settled on this gem. Sound is amazing, driving some Klipsch RF-52. Lots of inputs which I love, and the second zone comes in great for two separate outs. Love this thing. Remote works very well too. Well laid out.
