Summary: This receiver's power rating is 100W per channel. But in real use, it lacks power. Compared with my old Pioneer receiver that is also rated at 100W per channel, this Marantz labors to drive my PSB T6 in a 5.1 setup. It produces excessive heat.
Summary: I ordered the SR6007, which is last years model, from OneCall. This wholesaler called me the next day and told me that they had oversold the SR6007 and therefore didn't have any more in stock. As a courtesy, they gave the this years model (SR6008).
Summary: I purchased this receiver from Accessories4less for about $600 (plus extended warranty) to replace my Onkyo TX-SR606 which had no problems, but lacked the 3D capabilities, etc. that this receiver has.
Easy to setup, tons of features, excellent sound quality

Summary: Nothing I don't like about this receiver. It sounds amazing. Has plenty of power. Sounds awesome if you use the graphic eq VS. audesy which in my case makes my KEF speakers sound flat and unlively.
Summary: Decided to upgrade my home theater receiver, as I thought that my Denon was not giving enough power to my new speakers. I recently bought the Definitive ProCinima 800, and have been loving them. I have also added a subercube 9000 for a second sub.
Summary: SQ is excellent, Marantz build and cosmetics are also always nice. I used as a preamp with an outlaw amp and it performed perfectly. My only complain is the porthole, it really sucks for showing you everything that's going on if you are used to a Denon, Onkyo or older Marantz display.
Foolish me, I did the wiring wrong. Better. But....

Summary: I gate this a very negative review and need to update. The initial problem was me. The sound for home theater is much better. But I care most about audiophile sound from my CDs and SACDs and that, well, I'm still not completely sold. More later, as I play different disks.
