Summary: I bought a "barely" used 6006 to replace my 10 year old Yamaha AV 2500 for it's more updated connections and reviews. It came with no manuals or CD-Rom instruction leaving me to figure it out on my own.More modern connections yes, but no increase in sound or video quality. This unit also cuts out picture after a half hrs. use I'm guessing from overheating.6 inches on each side, a foot above and open front and back. How much room do you need?
Summary: My Marantz is hard to operate since I owned it. I had a Harmon Kardon AVR30, easy to operate but needed to be updated. So I bought the Marantz...when it works...it has a great sound...but it is hard to figure out. I never got the 7.1 surround sound to work. I know it is not me! I am currently looking for a new receiver.
Summary: I purchased this unit from an Authorized Online Marantz dealer. If you do not buy from an authorized dealer the manufacturer's warranty is void. That was about all I had going for me. Four months after I installed the unit, the red blinking light of death appeared. It is similar to the blue screen of death your computer shows when it has crapped out beyond repair. My unit has failed and there is nothing I can do about it except go for a warranty replacement.
Summary: Have had mine for a year never could get all chanels to work. The remote is hard to use or understand and I very capable and have two other Bose systems which are superior to Marantz. Then reciever and preamp are black with black buttons that do not light up so at night you must have lights on. Over all this system is discontinued by the manufacture because its terrible! !!!
Summary: Had mine for a month and I am very happy with the receiver- all functions work as they should despite some of the complaints I`ve seen online about Air Play- I guess the latest firmware upgrades must have solved that or else this was home network setup issue. It is musical and running it through a pair of PSB Alphas as front speakers, the sound equals the performance of a PM5004- then again, these are not high end units so better quality may tell more of a difference...
Summary: I bought my SR6006 in July of 2012. When I first ran the speaker set up test (using the included mic), the unit shut down 3/4 of the way through the test...there after, approximately once a week, the unit would shut down after 30 min or less of use. The back left corner on the top of the unit would be incredibly hot to the touch. I was on the road for work quite a bit during this period but finally had time to resolve this troubling situation.
Fantastic Sounding, Feature Rich, Rock Solid, what more do you want?

Summary: Pros:Excellent sound, great video, super features, music streaming capabilities, Audyssey XT Con's: A little complicated to get everything working properly, if you're not electronically inclined, pay someone! I've had Denon, Onkyo, Anthem receivers all cost around $1000 and this one sounds, subjectively, better than all of them.
Summary: I bought this receiver to replace a Pioneer Elite receiver because I wanted 3D capability. The receiver was set up without any problems. All aspect of the functionality of the receiver (sound and picture pass through) is working quite well. I must say I can't really tell any difference in sound or picture from my old Pioneer Elite, but the 3D function works quite well.
Summary: I got my SR6006 on closeout at Best Buy for $240. I had to order a remote, and the Audyssey Mic, and got the 4 Year Black Tie. I have $340 invested in it completely. I would have paid $1,000 for it, now that I heard it. My older Infinity Towers sound new, my surround is incredible, and I am pleased in every way! On closeout, this is an incredible deal. At regular price, it is still a solid purchase.
