Summary: This is my first Marantz product and i have to say im a very happy and proud believer in Marantz. I've heard about there reputation for excellent a/v components and outstanding sound quality and believe me they live up to the hype. When i first considered upgrading from my 09 Yamaha i considered Denon and Onkyo because both have stepped up there game in sound quality, features and build.
Summary: outstanding sound quality, video processing and its calibration system makes a huge and excellent difference. The menu is a little bit difficult to deal with, but nothing too complex, the design is classic and beautiful. I totally recomend anyone to buy it, i'm very satisfyed with mine.
Summary: Ordered a Marantz 6005 then returned it because it was a little difficult to set up. Ordered an Onkyo 809 since I already had an Onkyo 606 and was familiar with settings. Found myself missing the sound of the Marantz 6005 so I ordered another one. Now I have BOTH Onkyo 809 and Marantz 6005. Onkyo is 135 watts/channel and Marantz is 110 watts/channel but I cannot tell much difference. Both are excellent receivers but to me the Onkyo is a little easier to use.
Summary: I will start by saying that I'm not a rookie when it comes to home theater. I managed the home theater department at a high end electronics store for 4 years and consider home theater not only something that I greatly enjoy, but also something I consider as a hobby. I am always looking to help my family and friends out when it comes to purchasing and setting up any or all of a home theater system.
Summary: I had not planned on buying an AVR until around December 2012. While reading reviews, I stumbled across a 40% savings on a new Marnatz 6005 on Amazon.com. Due to cost, I never seriously consider one, but the savings made it a must buy. I had already read numerous reviews about other brands and found they all had their problems. These problems consisted of: firmware issues, customer service issues, receiver flexibility issues, and reliability issues.
Summary: I am very happy with SR6005 by Marantz. The sound is excellent. The setup was reasonably easy. The features are good for the money. I had an old Sony ES series that was a workhorse for me for years. When it finally died I was very sad. I began doing some research and a friend recommended that I check out this model. I couldn't find it in a store but I found a similar model at Best Buy and I liked it.
Summary: I have had this amp for about a month now, and it is really nice. It replaced a four channel amp that was purchased in the '70's, so it took me a while to figure out what all the buttons and controls were. The included manual was helpful, but somewhat confusing at the same time. It took me quite a while to figure out how to switch from stereo mode to surround sound. Still haven't gotten the iPod connected to it (although it's certainly possible).
