Summary: this was my first experence with buying on ebay. turned out not so good. receiver had to go to the doctor.a elect tech in dallas sent me a $300.00 bill, i`ll get back with you when it returns.
Summary: I am in no way affiliated with Marantz. I recently purchased a refurbished Marantz SR 6001 7.1 channel Receiver for a good discount. These are my experiences so far. To begin with it looks fantastic, very well built with subtle understated styling that will look good with any other components.
Summary: This receiver was very well planned. It is intuitive, well-appointed with current inputs and outputs. It is also somewhat backward compatible although, sadly, it lacks a phono input. The build quality is terrific. The only concern is the expense and sullied reputation of Marantz support. The authorized dealers seem to be as frustrated in this respect as the customers.
Summary: The 7.1 surround sound is awsome. Plenty of power. Numerous inputs for all your entertainment needs. With a nice set of speakers you cant go wrong. I went with Polk Audio. Monitor 60's for the front, CS1 for center, M30's for sides and rear. For the sub PSW10. Music or movies you will not be dissapointed.
Summary: I did more than my share of homework, before settling on the Marantz SR6001 receiver. It has more than enough power to supply audiophile sound to my 7.1 surround sound system. I also selected this model because of its internal HDMI switching and its ability to be controleld via RS232 for full home automation control. I am also a big fan of the internal audio calibration via Audyssey mic. I dont really have any negetives about this product.
