Summary: Great receiver for its category. With great power to get an incredible sound out of my Klipsch Reference speakers. Surround sound is excellent on 5.1, can't wait to hear with 7.2 channel. I would definitely recommend.
Summary: Had an NAD receiver before and I loved it. But it broke down eventually (getting repaired now actually) and the tech was a bit outdated. This Marantz does everything, streams music from itunes or android, has about a million HDMI and other inputs and the menus are very intuitive.
Summary: There are other ways to get connectivity than a receiver. You can buy a stand-alone hdmi switch, for example. So when I buy a receiver, I put the sound considerations first. You may have heard of the Marantz "warm" sound, which most resembles a tube amplifier.
Summary: This was my first foray into a real stereo system. I bough this AV receiver to power my surround sound system that includes Golden Ear SuperSat 50 speakers in the left, right and center front, PSB HD8 subwoofer and in-ceiling rears that came with the house.
Summary: I had this SR5007 about a year ago; it gives me a great sound I ever have when I used with my B&W speakers especially using in multi-stereo channel mode. I bi-amped conected to all 4 speakers It makes a clear and heavy bass sound. I highly recommend this model; you don't need the SR6007 or SR7007.
Summary: I have my unit hooked up to two Klipsch AW-650 outdoor speakers and the sound around the pool is amazing. I will probably bring it in and put it in place of my Pioneer Elite HT unit to compare in that setting. Have only listened to TV and music so far so I can't comment on HT.
