Summary: I have had many receivers over the years and this one ranks with some of the best in this price range. As many hook-ups as a person could use. Easy to use and set up. I don't really like the tiny display, but it is a Marantz thing. My biggest complaint is no HDMI pass through. So to watch TV in highest def it always has to be on. Plus you can't listen to a cd and watch TV at the same time. That is a dumb move for a receiver I think....
Summary: I've had this product for nearly a year now, and it has been great. A few of the drawbacks I have seen are that it is not able to stream DLNA video, which I'm hoping is a standard feature in the coming years, and that the menus are sometimes not intuitive (Why are there separate menus for speakers and sound?
Summary: Replaced an excellent 10 year old Marantz 18 EX receiver. Reason for upgrade was the desire to go 7 channel (eliminating an outboard amp used for second zone with the 18EX), HDMI and add wireless capability. Selected the SR5007 based on dozens of reviews and my favorable experience with Marantz. Unboxing: Upon first receiving the unit I was disappointed by the heft and build compared to the older AVR.
Summary: After doing quite a bit of research and speaking with several A/V pros, I selected the SR5007 to power my surround sound, multi-room system, and overall I'm very happy with it. It's a little pricier than I'd like, but I can't complain too much with all the features that it has. It's a great design and a significant step up from the 10 year old Onkyo HTIB that I used to use without HDMI switching. It has plenty of input options for almost any user.
Summary: Amazing cinema sound and easy to use GUI. My only gripe is music does sound good, however I felt like my older Yamaha did a better job with the music. I don't know if to blame the speakers (Martin Logan MLT-2) or if it is the receiver.
Summary: I've had last years version of this amp about for about a year now and it has been very nice (SR5006). The difference that Audyssey calibration makes is nothing short of amazing. This is a no brainer setup that audiophiles can even agree with. I find the lack of feedback on the front of the amp a little annoying at times, and it does have the worst remote that I have used.
Summary: This amp is everything that I was looking for. Easy to use, great power, and awesome sound. I use to have a Yamaha 5860 and what an improvement. I love hdmi, no more wasted money on cables. Love it. Buy this amp, you won't regret it.
