Summary: The Marantz SR4002 receiver has been living in my home entertainment system for about 3 years now. It gets near nightly use as I have netflix, DVD, TV, TIVO going through it. The receiver works as advertised. I was concerned that when Philips took over the Marantz brand, quality may have suffered...
Summary: The AC outlet has power shut off protection. But it can not be reset once it is shut off, the whole unit is considered damage that needs repair - You cann't find help from the marantz service. Bring it to the authorize service, it is all money talk. For me, it is the design defect.
Summary: I just recently got into the audiophile world and I have been making numerous upgrades to my home theater. The sound on my Samsung LN40A550 was terrible and to really bring out the full-value of this TV...you need great audio!
Summary: I upgraded from a Sony 6-Channel receiver and this unit pleased me immensely. I did get a very very good deal on it, so I don't know that I would be quite as pleased if I had paid full price. I believe it has been discontinued so it's possible to get quite good deals on it.
Summary: Great receiver. The only problem is that I can't use my HDMI cable to view the set up screen, otherwise excellent in every way. Movies and music sound terrific. pretty easy to get up and running and the remote controls my TV, so at least I can get rid of one remote.
Summary: I did a lot of research and listening to different receivers before making my final decision. I ended up buying the Marantz because of it's excellent sound quality and features. The remote can be "taught" from other remotes and the HDMI switching is easy.
Summary: I purchased this as a replacement for a NAD T742 that was plagued by quality issues. I will base me review as compared to the NAD. The Marantz is much more feature rich. HDMI and Component video switching is something the NAD lacked.
Summary: After a few weeks with the sr4002, I am mostly happy with it. The sound quality is excellent, not too bright like the denon. I think the video from my verizon fios tv looks better now than it did before when I had it connected directly from the box to a dvi connector on my 4 year old 57" toshiba...
