Summary: Warning: The back panel HDMI inputs (such as "DVD", "Media Player", "Blu-Ray") do not sync audio correctly with all (or even most) laptops/PCs. This means that if you try to use HDMI to connect your PC or laptop to the Marantz, you can get video to display correctly, but the audio will not be recognized or played. For me, the workaround for this was to use the front-panel "AUX" HDMI input on the Marantz, rather than the back-panel.
Summary: UPS picked it up in Hebron KY and 5 days later they returned it to Hebron KY saying it was delivered! Nice job only to be outdone by my stupidity for ordering the wrong replacement (See Marantz NR 1403 order). This wasn't discovered until the installer was installing it. So I lost some functions that would have been included on NR1603.
Summary: I I bought this product because of the generally good reviews. However, when it arrived, I had a problem where the bios would not update. I emailed Marantz customer service a week ago, but never heard back. Well that is not true, they did manage to add me to their SPAM list.
Summary: Marantz makes great sounding audio equipment, but the NR1603 appears to be a venture into uncharted waters with streaming. On my NR1603 amp, the video cuts in and out unless their is PCM audio playing, which does not let me select a playlist or take other actions when viewing a graphic control menu from my video or audio player. When streaming SiriusXM, it changes channels randomly every few minutes.
