Summary: Five star receiver - DOA. Warehouse Deals offered this as the only discounted unit on the web when I was looking. It was clearly described as 'repackaged', so I wasn't surprised when it arrived reasonably repackaged in an original Marantz box and promptly delivered. I assumed that WD would have reviewed the reason for return as something other than 'doesn't work', and that they would have checked that it was in working order. Not so much.
Mine was defective and had to be returned, and only Amazon made that easy

Summary: It worked for 2 days and then the video output died. I tried replacing the HDMI output with an analog output, but still no video. The next day, video was working but audio was dead! (Audio was ok on the headphone jack.) Changing out HDMI cables didn't help, and bypassing the receiver (DVR -> TV) worked perfectly. The Marantz service info sheet gives a number to call, but calling that number refers you to their website.
Summary: I don't know what I was thinking. I wanted to replace my already working, perfectly fine Onkyo receiver, which I had owned for years and never had a problem with. For some reason, I got it in my head I wanted a new updated receiver to accompany my new TV and digital media server. I had seen ads in high end home theater magazines for Marantz products, so I assumed this would be a quality item.
Couldn't be worst - system goes into protection mode and becomes useless

Summary: I've bought this Marantz system after lots of researching and looking for a receiver from a brand with some reputation. Couldn't be worse. The system is an average system with all the resources I needed for a fair price and the setup assistant helps a lot when setting up the system for the first time. However, that's all the positive I can say about this system and Marantz.
Summary: I had this unit since October 16 of 2012. A couple of days ago, I started seing a fleakering deal on the front display for no reasong what so ever. I started to change input to select another component, the receiver just went blank and I had to turn it off to see if it would do anything, nope it just stayed dead. I unpluged the unit than pluged it back after waiting 10 minutes.
Summary: I bought this product in July of 2012 and had 0 complaints. Unfortunately after 6 months a problem developed. The receiver would overlay big blue boxes over the HDMI signal along with small green boxes of static. Additionally no on screen menus would work. In my opinion it looks like a problem with the video chip. I have contacted marantz and it is under warranty. I will update this review when my unit is repaired/replaced.
