Summary: Receiver worked ok for 18 months, but recently stopped working - the overload protection light comes on every time I power it on, even when nothing is connected to it. I live near San Francisco - the closest repair center to me is 300 miles away. Their repair centers are not factory owned - they are small local car stereo and audio-video dealer shops - which makes me concerned about quality. I found lots of bad reviews on Yelp for several of the places they recommended.
Summary: It worked perfectly... For thirteen months and 6 days... Went to turn it on today and no video and turns on and off for no reason. I feel ripped off. My 11 year old Denon AVR-4802 is still cranking it out... Pretty sad in my book, I would at least expect to get a few years out of this unit before it went teats up.
Summary: This is my second Marantz receiver. I have an AVR 6005 in my living room and the NR1402 in my office. Let me tell you, I get the same great sound from the NR1402 as I do my AVR 6005, it is slightly less powerful, but do not let the 50W per channel scare you, this receiver performs, and can get extremely loud and remain crisp. I hooked this receiver up to my computer using HDMI 1.4 cables. The Speakers I am using are Martin Logan MLT 2's (5.1 SAT SUB system).
