Summary: I have two of these receivers because for 150 wpc continuous power X 7 they are cheap, however input switching is faulty with the identical switching problem in both units. Only the TV input output works properly, after I tried everything JVC suggested, but did not offer to fix under warranty for whatever reason. I found my solution by installing an outboard high quality 6 input stereio switching box that sits on top of the receiver.
Summary: Returned item. It wasnt exactly what I was looking for. It was as sleak as it looks. I've always trusted JVC, but decided to go to Onkyo this time. JVC has kind of moved away form personal component recievers. Looks like they are more interested in the full package entertainment systems.
Summary: Small size, but it gets very hot! Leave lots of room for ventilation. Looks like it has lots of connections for lots of equipment, but not really. No phono or CD inputs, and it combines VCR/DBS, and DVD/DVR inputs. Won't output sound to TV via HDMI cable even if you use HDMI input from DVD or DBS/Cable. Sound quality is good, but I'd check out the comparable Denon model (about $150 more) if you've got lots of equipment to connect.
