Summary: I bought this receiver last year to work with a new LCD TV, and placed it in a walk-in closet in my bedroom behind the wall the TV was installed on. The closet has good ventilation, and has the cable DVR and separate DVD player on a small rack, without any problems, both running without much heat at...
Does not pick up radio (neither does replacement unit!)...JVC Support POOR

Summary: My father in law bought this on amazon for his wife for christmas. I set it up over the holidays to replace their aging receiver (which still worked but was long in the tooth and the display no longer worked...). When I set up the RX-D301S using the existing cables, the multi CD player worked fine.
Summary: Haven't really tried the receiver but the product was delivered promptly, packed well, and in good shape. I got this particular product, the JVC RX-D301S, mainly because it was the only 7.1 AV Receiver that was low-height enough to fit in the space I have.
Summary: The USB thing was very cool. But, in spite of being in a well-ventilated space, with nothing stacked upon it, it kept getting too hot. It would also cut out if volume was turned up even moderately. Eventually, it wouldn't even turn on at all - just shut itself back down again.
Summary: After reading all the reviews I could find, I finally took the plunge and ordered this wireless wonder. Amazon came through (as always) receiving my package just under the 10 day promised delivery time.
Summary: I bought this receiver to replace a large MGA receiver that was given to me many years ago. Everything was slowly going out on it and the final straw was when the left channel went. I did a lot of research to find an affordable, powerful and stylish replacement.
Summary: This is a great receiver to hookup to PCs. You can have wired and wireless connectivity USB there by allowing to hook up two PCs to this receiver. The price of high quality DAC alone is worth the price. Unfortunately JVC discontinued HT receivers line.
Summary: Let's face it. At this price range a receiver is a receiver is a receiver. It just depends on which brand you are familiar with. They all have the same inputs and outputs and watts per channel. What they don't have is wireless transmitting of your mp3's on your laptop to the receiver.
Summary: Other than noted above I would rate this as an above average Receiver. I am happy with the sound right without changing anything. It seems to give you total control of sound settings which is a must setting up a Home Theater System.
Pros: Great Receiver.I had in running in wireless USB in about 15 minutes out of the box. Plays all music from my computer to receiver without any noticable distrotion. Did not even conflict with my wireless network. The remote easily learned my other devices with out a problem. Great A/V Receiver
Cons: The only con I can note at this time is with be the fact that there is no in put for a CD player. It has in puts for a VCR that is almost obsolete. Why no input for a CD Player???
