Summary: I bought this receiver to replace a kenwood rated at 120wpc i bought about 10 years ago with a set of 15" cerwin vega re38's 4ohm 400 watts rms. The kenwood had devolped a hum. I didnt know these speakers could sound this good. Crystal clear even at the point of flat hurting your ears. If it can push these speakers you should have no worries. If you are looking for a simple receiver with great power and clarity for a reasonable price dont hesitate to buy the hk 3490.
Summary: This is my second Harman Kardon receiver. My first one was in the early 80's. This model sounds even better with superb clarity and clean bass. Using Bose 301 series III that I bought in the 90's, this sound simply cannot be beat at this price range. I can't complain about it. It cost less than my original HK and sounds just as good if not better. Your ears will love it!
Summary: I've had this receiver for a 3 months now, and I am incredibly impressed. I'm a college student working on creating my first high-end stereo system, and this receiver fit the bill precisely. I'm powering a set of Cambridge Soundworks T205 speakers, and they sound unbelievable with this receiver.
Summary: Easy to set up. Great power which makes your speakers kick. I am currently using the HK with my Totem Arro's and they make a great combination. The dual sub out is pretty nice too. I wish there were more digital inputs but for everything else its a great buy! enjoy.
