Summary: I was looking at an inexpensive receiver to step up from my htib. I found HK and like the looks and in further looking they all had good reviews. I bought this receiver and it was an easy setup. The only thing that I did not like is the remote, which if you look at many other review online you will see that is a common complaint, not that it matters as I am using a harmony 668 to control everything. Good power and can power speakers very well with good warm sound.
Summary: Although this receiver doesen't count with the latest features of parametric sound equalizer and auto set up microphone like the bigger versions, it is indeed a really good performer, solid bass, really nice midrange and good highs. Plenty of inputs and outputs. Remote control is ok, it could be better but for the price l guess you can not ask for more.
Summary: i bought the receiver because i feel that the high current amps provide a warmer sound. and the 6 channel receiver provides the surround channel with out having to go up to a 7 channel receiver price when most cds' and dvds' are 5 channel anyways.
Summary: I had a solid vintage workhorse 2-channel amp for a long time but finally thought it ws time to upgrade to surround sound. After researching extensively, Harmon Karden was the most consistently praised company. But I only needed an entry level model. This unit is perfect. It has sufficient power for almost any applications, setup is not super easy but straightforward enough.
Summary: I needed a receiver that had 6 channel inputs with clean power at an affordable price.... I got it! Easy to use and set up (OSD)... The remote is a little confusing at first, but you get used to it quickly. I bought the AVR135 for a home project recording studio to do 5.1 surround mixing... I am pleased.
Summary: This is a very complex receiver and definately not for the beginner that i am...i found it very diffucult to set up and had to ask a friend to come to my house and complete the process. Very happy with the sound and the HK speakers.
Summary: I bought this receiver to go with my new Panasonic plasma TV and so far I'm pretty happy. Plenty of connections for all your AV equipment, including three digital inputs. Two complaints: - As mentioned by other reviewers, the speaker connections on the back are somewhat hard to get to. - It takes the unit a few seconds to start up, which my Harmony univeral control doesn't like.
