Summary: On the second one of theses in less than a year. When using two HDMi sources, receiver can't handle having them both plugged in at the same time. Works fine to begin with but for some reason at some point It just won't work with two sources plugged in. Right now I have to pull the unused source cable because. Both receivers have the same problem.
Summary: I have this Harmon Kardon AVR 247 for a couple of months now, replacing my Onkyo DS575X which died(Amp)after 8.9 years of great service. I have a Laptop that has Harmon Kardon speakers plus sub-woofer, They have a great sound, very good. After reading other peoples reviews I bought a Refurbished HK AVR 247.
Summary: The sound quality is quite good, especially for an amp of this price point. However, this unit (and probably others in HK's line, I imagine) has a SERIOUS flaw that will especially affect those users that rely on over-the-air TV (either digital or analog). Somehow, despite their reputation, HK failed to properly shield the electronics in this amp, and as a result it creates a tremendous amount of radio interference.

Summary: This receiver appears to everything except one thing. If you have a dvd playing with digital audio coming in and somehow the audio content is disrupted such as: 1. program going from title to start of movie. 2. a pause in dvd player (doorbell rings, etc) 3. a stop in dvd player. 4. a layer switch The surround sound is switched off. You have to manually turn it on using the On-Screen Display menu or cycle through the remote buttons.
