Summary: On the second one of theses in less than a year. When using two HDMi sources, receiver can't handle having them both plugged in at the same time. Works fine to begin with but for some reason at some point It just won't work with two sources plugged in.
receiver switches from surround sound to stereo mode

Summary: This receiver appears to everything except one thing. If you have a dvd playing with digital audio coming in and somehow the audio content is disrupted such as: 1. program going from title to start of movie. 2. a pause in dvd player (doorbell rings, etc) 3. a stop in dvd player. 4.
Summary: I have this Harmon Kardon AVR 247 for a couple of months now, replacing my Onkyo DS575X which died(Amp)after 8.9 years of great service. I have a Laptop that has Harmon Kardon speakers plus sub-woofer, They have a great sound, very good.
Summary: I am not returning it because shipping this thing back will cost me more than it's worth. Also it seems to actually be functioning okay but the appearance is UNACCEPTABLE. Spend your money on a new one. I hope this one lasts, tho.
Pros: It seems to be working at least. Sound is great but it's only been one day. We'll see how she goes in the long haul.
Cons: Arrived covered in fingerprints. Face scratched like it was thrown in dryer with a box of nails. DIRTY. Heavily worn and grungy buttons. I wanted to dip it in a vat of Lysol. Utterly filthy. It's embarrasing HK is shipping units like this and worse Newegg is selling them. Come on, guys...
Summary: The sound quality is quite good, especially for an amp of this price point. However, this unit (and probably others in HK's line, I imagine) has a SERIOUS flaw that will especially affect those users that rely on over-the-air TV (either digital or analog).
