AVR 245 7.1 channel Receiver has crystal clear audio
7 September 2010
Summary: I was initially going to bid on a 247 but to my dismay, someone out there in the ether kept bidding into the "New Price" level. I happened to see this AVR 245 and without double checking I bid at the last second and won. I was not ready to be impressed by this receiver. I knew this unit would not process HDMI actively but I was disappointed to find out a couple of things; There is no "by-pass" when the power is off.
Summary: good things: sound quality is very good, amp exterior, connections bad things: I never feel the fan working, the sound cuts some times when the movie change to next title, needs more power for the center speaker
awesome undistorted sound one of the finest electronics

Summary: i love the undistorted sound i can turn this unit all the way up and no distortion it has a device that will set distance and volume of the speakers for you called ez set really nice many surround options just a really nice piece of electronics i upgraded from a high end yamaha that was nice also but is not even close in comparison to this system
Summary: I purchased this receiver after about 2 months of research. I kept coming back to Harman Kardon as it seemed to be the best receiver i could get for the money. So far i have not been dissapointed at all. Its easy to set up, looks great and sounds awesome. I am using a 5.1 set up of polk audio speakers that work flawlessly with it. I guess the only thing i wish it would do is upconvert everything to the HDMI output so i could have a single cable running to my TV.
