Great deal, great product.

lucky7er, Ebay

  • Summary: Wanted a receiver with some HDMI connections so wouldn't have a huge mess in back of the entertainment center. This one has 2 in & 1 out. Sound is great, tons of options & personal settings. Came with setup mic, did not have a chance to use yet.

Good budget receiver

mrsporky, Ebay

  • Summary: Nice receiver for the money. Just keep in mind it is a budget model. Doesn't process HDMI audio so you will still need to run a digital audio line from your source. Does not upconvert analog video to HDMI, so whatever cable you use as an input, you must also run back out to the TV.

HK AVR 147 5.1 Receiver

ronin596, Ebay
2 August 2009
  • Summary: This was my first Harman/Kardon purchase and what they say is all true. This is a wonderful AV receiver and I am thoroughly thrilled by the sound qaulity and the cool features. I added a matching HK speaker system (HKTS 7 5.1) and the results are stunning, at least to my ears.

Great AV Receiver

det0288, Ebay
6 April 2009
  • Summary: I have purchased an HK 5.1 speaker system last year and they are great. This receiver is no different. The receiver looked new and works great. The packaging was great and it arrived quickly. It will take a little time to learn all the features it has, but the sound quality is great.

Incredible for the price

  • Summary: I have this and the Harman Kardon HKTS-15 5.1 Channel Speaker System I'm not an audiophile by any means, and this system is my first foray into the world of receivers. Previous to this, I just used a tv with integrated speakers, but when I upgraded to an LCD TV + HD cable service, I thought I should...

Fantastic sound quality

  • Summary: I am amazed by people who compare this unit to Sony & Yamaha receivers... they clearly don't have a musical ear. Nothing wrong with that, if they are happy with the other brands then good for them!

Rodney K. Ladd, Amazon
5 April 2008
  • Summary: The AVR 147 is a great piece,,,small enough to fit in a living room cabinet...yet carries enough power to run my Bose 15 5.1 surround speaker system...additional optical audio cables are needed when hooking up HDMI sources along with a monitor out lead to view the OSD { on screen display }..

HARMON KARDON 147

M. Zody, Amazon
9 March 2008
  • Summary: I'm still having problems using their EZ Set/EQ speaker set up. For something that is supposed to be easy, it isn't. My surround sound still doesn't seem right. If I had to do it over again, I would have kept my old Sony.

Pretty darn good for the price

Gkcmilner, Amazon
10 February 2008
  • Summary: With the high current amp the 40 watts per channel sound great at full throttle. Plenty loud for my purpose. The HDMI works very well in this model for video. You can input an HDMI signal and it will output that signal using any source (component in my case) you can also input any signal and output...

Super easy set-up

goober, Amazon
18 January 2008
  • Summary: This a fine H/K product, great value. I'm using this AVR with H/K speakers including a 12",200 watt sub-woofer. Positives: easy set-up, great directions, great sound. H/K's EzSet/EQ feature is super because one does not have to calibrate and configure manually, which to do correctly, requires an SPL...
