Did not by becoz it has no CD player

Mohit Saran, Amazon
11 January 2014
  • Summary: I know most of our music is now stored on cloud, ipod etc, but I have a large collection of CD's for which I don't want to put hours converting them to mp3...(may be one day, but not now) If it had a CD player then would have bought it.

Wish I had bought this first

Happy Now, Crutchfield

  • Summary: I am very happy with this (final) upgrade to my system. Even my wife thinks I may finally be done.. I wanted a small, inconspicuous stereo system to provide background music for reading and entertaining in our vacation condo ( in 600 square foot LR/DR). Most of the music I listen to is classical, from my home collection transported on my iPod Touch. Two years ago I started out with a popular Japanese shelf system (from Crutchfield). Wasn't happy so I added a 10" woofer.
  • Pros: Sound quality, compact size, plenty of power, easy set up, easy software update.
  • Cons: No printed manual, sometimes difficult to establish contact with iPod after a cold start. Also - I would like to see the "now playing" selection on both the iPod screen and the DR-ANW screen rather than either/or.

Great system. I just wish they had it with 4.1 option

  • Summary: Sound it quite nice. Adding Pandora was simple. Over all this was just what I wanted if it had 4.1 and was this size it would be perfect.

An intriguing net centric re-think of the classic mini stereo system

APC Reviews "APC Reviews", Amazon
23 June 2013
  • Summary: The Denon DRA-N5BK Desktop Networking Music System is an interesting new approach to the classic "mini" bookshelf type music system. It substitutes digital music sources, such as MP3 players and smart phones, for the traditional CD player, and streaming audio sources, such as Internet and satellite music services, for over the air FM radio.

Great sound, learning curve is steep

A. Davis, Amazon
2 June 2013
  • Summary: Now that I have this stereo set up and I know how to operate it (for the most part), I absolutely love it. The sound is amazing, and the features are stellar. It was easy to do the initial setup - I connected to my home Wifi network easily. I had to spend a total of about an hour reviewing the manual to figure out some of the features, however. I already had Pandora and Sirius/XM accounts, so it was easy enough to sign into my accounts on this receiver.

Just the Reciever

A. Reader, Amazon

  • Summary: To be clear, you are not getting the speakers. While they are shown in pictures, and it's called a system, they are not included. They will add another $$$ to price if you don't have speakers. That being said, Denon makes some truly great stuff, and this is no exception. I think most people will be better served by a airplay enabled dock that will do 90% of this for about half the cost in a smaller package.

Very high quality unit ~ Extremely nice company to do business with

Andy Rosenblum "Andy Rosenblum", Amazon
30 January 2013
  • Summary: I literally spent weeks searching for an Internet based radio that was capable of delivering room filling sound. All of the most popular ones seemed to be more oriented toward the type you would use as a bedside clock radio with very poor quality speakers. There were some exceptions, such as the Grace Mondo and Logitech Squeezebox Internet radios, but these came with a single mono speaker. Both sounded good, but not capable of room filling sound.

Very happy

Jonathan, Amazon
15 December 2013
  • Summary: Does every thing it should. Sound quality is good, but you'll never get a compressed mp3 to sound as good as cd. That's no fault of the denons though. Running 2 pairs of speakers through a switch...old leak 2020 in one room and q acoustic in another. Ipad interface is good, but it would be better with shuffle, playlists etc. Internet radio is a real laugh! A novelty, but I keep coming back to good old bbc.

Rekomenderas!
