Great as a low-powered, budget-oriented AVR if you have realistic expectations

Summary: This is a decent low-mid end receiver. For those expecting this to be a powerhouse loaded with options, I'm sorry, but you're simply looking at the wrong line of Denon receivers. I am not using this unit for any video capabilities whatsoever, just as a pure sound receiver.
Excerpt: Bought this receiver to replace an older unit that died. Just a basic surround system that didn't justify a greater expense. No problems with the sound, or quality of the unit. But it would be nice if these basic units would include a switched outlet for a sub woofer without having to spend hundreds...
Summary: Upgraded from a 10+ year old denon receiver. Love the brand but needed hdmi for my newly finished basement. Yes this is an entry level unit but the features and functionality are impressive. Denon quality all the way around.
Summary: Great sound (for the money!), Easy set up with included microphone for balancing even disparate speaker choices...Great price/performance selection. Best compliment... sounded better than the the Onkyo it replaced at half the money....
Summary: This unit worked alright the first few days. When playing games on computer, every now and then the screen would fade black and then come back on. Now the video is not working at all and won't accept an input. I don't know if this was just a defective one but it does not work.
Excerpt: I purchased the Denon 5.2 Channel Receiver on Super Bowl Sunday. I am a musician and this device has proved to be invaluable thus far. I took my DJ and sound guy along to B&H to help answer some of the tougher technical questions.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I purchased this unit for the features and price. I have 2 Klipsch RF52 speakers hooked up to it and found that the unit does not push them as well as I was hoping for. I have this unit in a small den and listen to music and movies through it.
Pros: East set up, speaker calibration and use of bluetooth
Cons: Says 70 Watts RMS but doers not seem like it pushes my speakers
Summary: Very surprised at the flexibility of this product. Five HDMI inputs, which is impressive at this price point. The thing that really impressed me was the TOSLINK (digital audio input on the Denon. There are two available).
Pros: Very nice audio quality. Two TOSLINK inputs. Bluetooth service. All-in-all, a very good value.
