Summary: Small room my monitor audios are cranked to 8 to get volume- I know Monitor audios are inefficient and so so -my reference music system is a rogue audio with revel speakers in living room , but for avr this lacking. Mainly too few inputs the analogue inputs do not show p on the screen so few inputs I am lacking inputs hooked p airplay no input for sonos, no input for Nakamichi cassette no phono input and while sound is so so it is always too bass heavy- as well no matter...
Summary: The red blinking light shut downs that go with this system are annoying. But, a hard reset seems to help. I would do my research because many people are having problems with the new AVR models. Just do your homework.
Summary: Overall I am very happy with this product because of the ease of use and excellent sound quality. I really recommend the Front Width option instead of using the surround back channels. It is now finally possible to unplug the power cord. I developed a grudge because of the tedious firmware update (4600-4916-6484 to 4600-2226-7552). And, after I selected the web update I got a request for a file (that I do not have). There was no more escape but pulling the plug.
Pros: Audyssey Dsx, Front Height Or Width, Good On-screen Menu, Less Legacy Inputs, reasonable price, Simpler Remote, Solid Amplifier Circuiits, Zone 2 Hdmi
Cons: Clunky Firmware Update, No Bitstreaming Indicator, Poor Support Site, Support Does Not Respond
Summary: My first impressions of this Denon unit are not great. There is no support for a wireless dongle, although you will read on many sites that there is from people who clearly didn't try to use one. The ipod playback is excruciating. Moving from one song to the next takes about three seconds, which is really slow when you are flipping through tracks on a ipod classic, thats if it changes at all.
