Summary: Bought one of these some time ago from an authorized retailer over the internet. The unit is very flexible, powerful, and sound is very clean. As some others have said though, the user interface is not that great. I have been using it in 5.1 with zone 2 and zone 3 (kitchen and deck). I find that occasionally the unit doesn't play back well (skips) in zone 2/3 and I need to power cycle it to clear it up.
Summary: Updated- This is an amazing receiver for sure. (I previously thought I had an issue with the unit but found it was a bad ethernet cable) BACK TO 5 STARS FOR DENON!!!! Bought mine is Sep 2012 (Brand New) just before the new Model 4520 came out. The features are REALLY great with this unit. It Streams music right from my iPad/iPhone (music can only be fair quality when streaming) or run it to my computer and play FLAC (Which is the Highest and most amazing quality) music.
Summary: I guess the Denon brand is top notch. My AVR, however, was dead on arrival. I decided to try an Onkyo (have had a bunch without any problems for years). I will wait till this unit drops some in price and order it again.
this was the best thing in live i could have treated myself to!

Summary: hey people out there , i'd would like to speak my mind about how well the people are and the person i share my first Ebay experience with !!! at first i was un-sure of the out come with e-bay would be and held my breath.... when first i thought of how the economy is , knowing that i had dream of owning a Denon and saved up bonus checks , birthday money and residual change from here and there for two year to do this..
Summary: I very recently purchased this AVR & my previous receiver (Yamaha RX-V2095) was considerably less complicated than this creature . . . so, I'm still familiarizing myself with all it's features. That being said, there are a couple things I can comment on at this time are: PROS: 1) setup was fairly straight forward (if you're comfortable around electronics) because I'm not a GEEK or Audiophile . . .
Summary: I owned this product for about a week. Had nothing but problems from the very beginning. I am big on buying products on-line. I usually spend a good amount of time reading both professional and customer reviews and try to make a decision based on that. This product came highly recommended from just about everywhere I looked. Seemed like a no-brainer! From the very beginning I found this product to be very confusing.
Summary: I've been using this for about 3 months now in an 11.2 system. I use a NAD 5 channel amp for the LCR and surrounds simply because you need an external amp for the last 2 or in 11.2 setup and I have a 5 channel external amp. For the price, this can't be beat. You get... - 11.2 with external amp. 9.2 using internal amps only. No other receiver can beat this. - Audyssey XT32 with dual sub calibration. No other receiver can beat this. - Audyssey DSX for 11.2.
Excerpt: This receiver has it all and then some. I won't even use a third of the capabilities. I replaced a Denon AVR-5700 which is 14 years old and still in fine condition. It just doesn't have HDMI. I worried that I wouldn't get as good sound in a newer unit, but I am very pleased. Removing all the gear to supplant HDMI switching on the old box made things much simpler. I am bi-amping my front speakers this time and I can really tell a difference mid-range and up.
