Summary: Very good amplifier with a lots of connection available, I love it, yet, I see potential for improvement on 2 points : - be less flexible in the menus (I happened to mess up my signal and ended up with my TV video on the DVD sound,... the menus are so complete that I got lost) - DLNA client... I would love it to be more intuitive, it is a bit too old school.
Summary: I bought one of these 4 years ago and only now really have it humming. There are several bugs in the network/usb operation that Denon never addressed and never came clean on in the official Denon support page. After reading countless audio forums I fixed all the bugs and this unit really lives up to its potential as a knock out home theater hub. Bug #1: The network function locks up after a few hours of operation and gives a "server disconnected" error.
Summary: I originally bought this for my theater room which has a projector, and 7.1 system. I also have an ABUS system with keypads that allows music to be played in various rooms in my home. I liked the idea of a networked receiver which could find and play my music stored on various computers hooked into the network. As time has gone on, however, I have found this receiver (and those like it) to become more and more obsolete.
Summary: I have been in to car audio and Home Theater since the early 90's and have been through around 7 different receivers in that time, but by far this is the most advanced and beautiful sounding of them all. I have always been a die hard Pioneer fan but the 4308ci had what I wanted as far as features and power. This is my 1st Denon receiver it is very easy to use and it was very easy to set up without even really messing with the instruction manual.
Summary: hi all this item is great i love it in terms of sound quality when playing through the usb it moves to slow in terms of getting to the other track the on screen display is a very nice feature but it seams to flicker and does not work as it should this i think is a big problem for an item that cost this much
Summary: I searched for quite a while before I decided to purchase this Denon Receiver. I'm not an expert by any means and was very nervous about purchasing the right product. I easily found a lot of reviews for Denon and this specific receiver and it seemed like the right choice, so I jump in. While I waited for it to arrive, I discovered that you can download the manuals for all of Denon's Receivers online at their website - [...].
Excellent Product But....a little patience required

Summary: If you want an excellent AV with all the bells and whistle, buy this Denon. However, be prepared to have a lot of patience w/ its user manual. Read it once....or twice. And if you're still foggy as to what it's really saying, then try this: [...]. This is a "Please....Speak English" kind of manual specifically written for Denon AV. I used it to get the best out of my unit. By the way, try to team this up w/ the Denon DVD-3800BDCI blu ray (currently for sale @539 vs.
Not happy with sound output, not happy with Denon support
28 October 2009
Summary: **Update 11.18.09: The Pioneer Elite SC-27 is fantastic. Beautiful video and sound output. I highly recommend. I have had 3 Denon receivers in the past. Two from the 90's of which models I don't recall, but I was going to upgrade to the AVR-4308CI from the once flagship AVR-5700 that I have had for 9 or 10 years. These new receivers have plenty of great features like automated speaker setup, wifi, etc.
Summary: This unit was very easy to set up right out of the box. The audio sound from LPCM Uncompressed, Dolby True HD, or DTS MA HD Blu ray's is amazing. Lot's of power and clean sound. Each channel is easily idenfitied. Very pleased!
Summary: I'm pretty sophisticated technically, but configuring this receiver is nearly impossible. The menus are arbitrary and incomprehensible, the documentation poor, and the two remotes almost impossible to use. The receiver keeps crashing when it tries to update its firmware. Everything about its design is unintuitive and opaque, and configuring it to get good sound out of it is very difficult without some very sophisticated professional help.
