Summary: This receiver is nothing short of AMAZING! I bought this item based upon the universally stellar reviews and because I wanted a strong foundation for my home theater setup without spending a fortune. Everything about it is extraordinary from flawless build quality to it's audio performance that easily rivals separates costing several thousand dollars. As a legacy receiver it has no HDMI input/output but this is a non issue.
Summary: Purchased this receiver because I needed multi zones (5.1 and two other zones). I used the receiver to power zone2 and the preouts for zone3. The receiver is able to power one 7.1 zone and one 2speaker zone. Zone 3 has to be powered by a seperate amplifier. I like the EQ setup as it made an immediate difference and calibrated everyhing very well.
Summary: Made extreemly well. This will rock your house to its foundations. A little difficult to set up at first on the video screen but once configured - WOW! You need to be careful with all that power but it sounds unbelievable!
Summary: I really like the power this receiver has. I had trouble setting up the 2nd room because the system didn't appear to work the way the manual instructed you to set up the volume control in the other room. After some trial and error, I was able to make it work and it's working great!
Summary: Paired this with a denon 3910 dvd player for dvd-a, sacd, and movies. The 3805 seems capable of keeping up with the 3910 as far as letting the excellent converters of the 3910 be heard. If I use the Denon link digital tansfer and listen to the converters on the 3805 there is a reduction in the audiophile purity that I get through the analogue inputs. i.e the converters sound better on the 3910.
