Summary: Absolutely love it. Went through many receivers before coming back to this one including the Yamaha RX-A2000. Everything works the way it is supposed to without having to do extra programming. Only downside for me is the small display - can't really read it from across the room. Also all manufacturers are getting cheaper and cheaper. Eg. the 3312 loses the front panel door which is a nice touch.
Denon's products seem to offer the best of bells and whistles for mid-upper
7 August 2011
Summary: Denon has always offered a great line on stereo components since I can remember as a kid, my father always purchasing Denon, along with nakamichi and other brands. I had been scoping out Denon's and other brands for a while. I finally decided on this unit due to it's features and price point. I highly recommend the Denon website for comparing different XX10CI models. So far, I have been happy with my purchase.
Summary: I was lucky enough to get this unit for $700.00. Great deal for a great product...at least for the first 6 months. Then the network card stopped working. It would get its IP, though couldn't access any network functions or could it be access via web interface. Upon further investigation and after talking with Denon, they said this is a known issue that could possibly be fixed with a firmware update.
Excellent audio and blu ray video, need work on upscale
15 March 2011
Summary: I bought this receiver a month ago and it my first Denon AV receiver and first with hdmi connetions,DTS HD,dolby digital HD,hdmi pass through in standby mode and network connection. The audio and blu ray video is excellent, however the video upcale look very good from 6 feet and above and the closer to the TV the video upscale look a little fuzzy. The factory speaker channel level was set to zero and i change all to +5.0dB about 5 times and it not saving the settings.The...
Summary: The 3311 took me about a day and a half to set up... I was so excited when I got it that I woke up at 4:30 AM to get started. Setting up speakers was straight forward... the inputs were easy to assign and numerous. Out of the box the unit worked pretty well. I then ran the auto setup for speaker calibration and was impressed with what the unit HEARD through all those pulses through each channel.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality, Lots of features, Picture quality
Summary: This receiver is the heart of my total A/V experience. This was an upgrade for me from an older Denon. The ability to copy the auto-settings, then tweak an individual channel was my biggie. For my tastes, I like a tad more of high frequencies in the center channel (can you say "sibilance")and the AVR-3311 lets me do that. Also, I can now enjoy, all the latest HD audio (FLAC music and BD soundtracks) that I've missed out on. [...
Pros: Easy To Setup, Great Sound Quality, Upgraded Denon sound
Conclusion: Denon is a highly respected name in audio-visual components, so you can't go wrong, but if you're a serious audiophile, you will have to be willing to pay a little more. Most people should be more than happy with the AVR1911BK, though, especially for the price.
Pros: With 90 watts of power and 7 powered channels, this should be in the $1500 range of receivers. Plenty of oomph even for a fairly large living room.
Cons: It's not a high end receiver. For that you need 100+ watts.
