Summary: I've owned a 2807 for some years now, and haven't been impressed by this unit. For a start, the sound quality is not up to the quality of my inexpensive, 30 year old NAD amp -- which is disappointing. But a bigger issue is with the poor audio setup. The receiver seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to processing different types of audio input. For Dolby Digital it works fine.
If sound quality is your priority, buy Rotel instead.

Summary: My last receiver was a Denon, and I was impressed with it, so I naturally assumed Denon would be my first choice again, given their reputation for excellent receivers. I listened to it and felt something was missing; it didn't quite sound natural. I then tried a Rotel, and the sound quality was truly astounding, the best I've ever heard. I bought the Rotel that same day, despite the fact that it has fewer features and looks a little antique.
