The Denon AVR-2807 was picked by CNET reviewers as the best home-audio product at the January's Consumer Electronics Show 2006. Though it did manage to gather some amazing reviews from its fans, the Denon AVR-2807 has already been considered one of the best by its users. Features most liked is its full-featured 7.1-channel receiver highlighted by its ability to switch between two HDMI sources and convert analog video inputs to 480p HDMI output. The HDMI 1.1 switching means you're ready for Blu-ray and HD DVD, and auto calibration with Audyssey's MultEQ room EQ is included too. It also offers advanced autosetup capabilities and compatibility with Denon's optional iPod dock. There are many ways to set it up in different modes. It does manage to retain power in reserve, it doesn’t just use it al up quickly. More features are the auto calibration with Audyssey MultEQ room EQ, two coaxial and five to slink digital audio inputs, one 7.1-channel analog audio input, 7.1-channel preamp outs, XM Satellite Radio Ready, AV sync delay and multi-source/multi-zone. For iPod generation the AVR-2807 is XM-Ready and connects to an optional iPod dock. Users quoted that CD's sound great when using the direct function, with great presence, and DVD's through 7 speakers truly envelop you. It has though still managed to gather some negative reviews or complains by its users. Some think that the Denon AVR-2807 has only two HDMI inputs and its built-in XM radio function won't play the new XM HD Surround stations. While some think that the XM and iPod functions require additional accessories. What matters is that the Denon AVR-2807's keen balance of superb sound, gotta-have HDMI features and an affordable price put it in the sweet spot in the company's line. And the best thing about the Denon is the options that you get for the money.
