Summary: I bought this receiver over the sony because of the specs. I wanted one with at least a 100 watt rms into 8 ohms. Sony was 95watts into 6 ohms which I thought was misleading. The Sony has wi-fi and bluetooth but has 25% less power according to the specs. The Denon sounds much better than my previous sony with blue-ray and dvds. I have yet to adjust it to sound good with a music cd. For some reason something it is lacking.
Summary: Unfortunately the Denon did not meet our needs. It claims it takes HDMI input and provides component output, but in reality the Denon can not perform the conversion. It requires component input when you want component output. It's thus not compatible with our Apple TV and our excellent but old component plasma tv.
