Summary: I have this avr for about 5 months already. Connected to it is an old dvd player and an apple tv 2. The equipment is also wired for internet and network access through iphones and macbook pros. The basic functionality of the denon 1913 is good. It works as expected. However, its compatibility with the apple tv 2 seems to be flawed. In particular, it is hard to estimate if video output will be displayed on my tv at any given time.
Great sounding A/V receiver with one giant, misleading flaw

Summary: I have been a big fan of Denon products over the years. This company has always offered great sounding gear at affordable prices. I was torn between the AVR-1913 and the model down, the AVR-1713. In the end I decided on the 1913, due its integrated dual amplifier, multi-zone feature. I have my home theatre system in one room, and in-wall speakers in an adjacent room for audio from my Apple TV.
Summary: I had ordered the unit prior to Christmas, hoping to have it no later than the December 23rd (latest arrival date) - it arrived a week before that. The packaging was very well done and everything was in great condition. All instructions included (although worn). The set-up was easy and actually fun to do. Once set up I knew I had to get two more speakers for the 7.1 surround sound as it was an awesome machine.
