Summary: I went from a fairly expensive Denon receiver to this unit and the change in surround sound through the same speakers was dramatic. The setup was a bit complicated due to the process of fine tuning the speaker output algorithm with the provided microphone. Although fully setup the sound produced is amazing.
Summary: The seller Worldwide Stereo ran out of AVR1913 so they sent E400 new model to me. Thanks! E400 is more than what I expected. My need is to connect audio speakers (no tv) and I didn't want the box with wires in the living room. With Denon iPhone app and E400 connected to network I can power on, off, and play songs without having E400 in line of sight and physical remote. Second E400 plays local and international radio stations off Internet.
Summary: We all know that trying to extrapolate true power ratings for five or more driven channels simultaneously can be an exercise in frustration at times. 90 WPC stereo 8 ohms measures around 70 WPC according to the Home Theater Magazine review. I knew this going in, but still wish I had bought more power going in. I haven't had clipping issues to date, and it is capable of playing at SPL that I probably shouldn't, but still, there is no such thing as too much power.
Pros: REasonably. 7.1 capable. Good price (on sale). Clean sound. Audyssey works well. Intuitive menu system.
Summary: The receiver I got works and looks like new. The only thing that was missing was the little piece that goes over the front connection ports (not a big deal to me). I would recommend. Also, this receiver has a 1 year warranty from Denon, not a 90 ...
Summary: I moved into a new house and convinced my wife to upgrade the receiver. We have two outdoor speakers, and with this receiver, we can power those without an amp, and we can watch TV inside while listening to something else outside.
