Summary: I bought this used and have had it for about two months now. I have to say I really love this receiver. Easy to set up, lots of features, a great sound, and a great video chip. My TiVo Series 3 only has Composite output (the HDMI is notorious for going out on those) so I have the TiVo running through the Denon's Component In, with a TosLink Optical input for sound. I also have an Insignia BD connected via HDMI. The Denon converts both of these into one HDMI ouput.
Summary: I bought 2 of these receivers ~1 year ago, and both have an Xbox 360, PS3 & PC connected to them via HDMI, and both are using 5.1 surround speakers. ...I have no complaints about their form or function, and both have been functioning excellently, and there's really nothing bad to say about the 1911 receiver! I have to give it a 5/5 just because it totally delivers on what it says it does.
Why buy this years receiver if you only need last years features?

Summary: I love this receiver! I bought it used on eBay after my refurbished Pioneer died three days after I received it. I don't know how much it was used before since it was purchased used, but it works wonderfully. It has a handy usb port on the front so you can hook an iPod straight to it and control it with the remote or buttons on the receiver and you don't need to buy an expensive dock like you do for many other receivers.

Summary: Lot's of people have given in depth reviews so I won't repeat all that only to say that I've been using it for about 6 months (ordered from amazon.de) and it works as good as everyone said it would. Had no problems with the ipad either. I can say highly recommended.
Summary: For those who don't want to read this long review, simply put, this is a great system that has a relatively easy setup. Just be sure to connect everything before plugging it in. Audio and Video qualities are amazing, especially the up-conversion. The only con is if you intend to use an iPod you either need to suffice using your remote control and scrolling, or shell out $100 for a dock (which I do not know if that even fixes this issue).
Summary: The best sound of all the receivers I have owned. The owners manual not as difficult as some have suggested , if you read and go over it more than once. You can adjust system manually but the Audyssey auto is easy and sounds great. The remote is quite Good, should of had a lighted remote. Once a person has studied and gotten familiar with thier unit,it is easy to use. Plenty of hook ups for me. Dvd's and blu-ray sound is fantastic!! The color is wonderfull!
Excellent HD audio output and standard def video enhancement

Summary: Truth be told, I am really not an AV connoisseur per se. This is not to say I don't appreciate good audio/video. Like any other guy, when I first switched over to High Def, I showed my wife and I got the "I don't see the difference" answer. When I switched from my Sony STRDH700 to the Denon AVR-1911, no other changes to my equipment, my wife walked in and, without any prompt from me, commented on how much more vibrant the picture was.
Summary: This is a great mid level receiver. It has features found on much more expensive units. There are some concessions that didn't matter to me. For me it was the 7.1 I was after along with the QUALITY sound. It was a huge step up from the Sony 5.1 I had yet the $$ really wasn't that big of an investment. It could be a little easier to use (user freindly) and the writing on the remote is a bit tiny for old farts like myself. Other than that I highly recommend it.
