Summary: This model has a design defect, and the video image will quite working on the tv, when some component overheats. Great service from Denon repaired 5 times for free. They eventually gave updated model for a small charge and it works great. Pick a newer model.
Summary: DO NOT buy this unit from Modia! It is a bait and switch. If you want an AVR-1910, don't order it here. Modia does not have any. Instead they will send you a Denon E400 and tell you it is the same. If I wanted an E400, that is what I would have ordered. For $35 less, by the way.
Excellant Versatile Home Theater, DVD-Audio, SACD, Stereo Receiver: Denon AVR-1910

Summary: When I purchased this receiver in 2010 I was looking for one that could provide me with a home theater experience along with SACD and DVD-Audio playability. This Denon has done very well with those requirements. There is a lot to learn with this receiver. It is feature packed and you will need to wade through the 8-1/2' by 11-1/2" owner's manual consisting of 64 pages. There is a lot of cross referencing using page numbers so you can easily find what you are looking for.
Summary: Bought in April 2010, died in August 2013. I find myself almost mirroring another reviewer who hated the same things I did. The only thing bad about this thing dying on me is that I spent $400 on it and now I've got a $400 nothing. Sound was good while it worked, and yes that's the most important thing. But there wasn't much else to like, starting with it not being "set it and forget it" at all.
Summary: i ordered this item for my home theater that was under construction at the time. it sat in the box while we finished our theater for over a year. when i finally opened the receiver and hooked it up, all i had was a 30lb $300 paper weight. the item was a factory referb receiver but i guess they didn't get all the bugs out before packing it up and sending it to me. since it sat in a box unused and untouched for a year plus, the warranty ran out.
Summary: My AVR1910 bit the dust just over two years after purchase. It was never fun to use because the user interface was just unnecessarily complicated. The manual was poorly organized and written. I find obvious spelling and grammar errors errors in a manual hard to excuse at this product level, it raises questions about the quality of the receiver itself.
Summary: Purchased this item as an upgrade from another Denon unit. Receiver has been everything that it was expected to be and more for a better than expected price. Excellent sound and HDMI switching.
