Never ending set up

Tom Tobey, Amazon
14 November 2015
  • Summary: Bought this unit with hopes of creating a great home theater experience. It was not to be. Ended up taking it back to Best Buy for a refund. The set up never ends. I spent more time trying to get my spkr arrangement to sound right than I did enjoying the sound.

DMGenest | "Genet", Amazon
9 November 2013
  • Summary: When I purchased this receiver in 2010 I was looking for one that could provide me with a home theater experience along with SACD and DVD-Audio playability. This Denon has done very well with those requirements. There is a lot to learn with this receiver.

Early death

Mark, Amazon
3 January 2013
  • Summary: Owned this for 4 years, died this week of apparent hdmi board failure, no audio or video on any hdmi connection. Other problems: remote is horrible - bad ergonomics, on screen interface is similar to atari 2600, power is overstated - you have to turn up the volume almost to max to get sufficient...

Died early ~ No Sound except clicking

Duffy Thompson, Amazon
28 September 2011
  • Summary: After several months I woke up one morning and could no longer get sound out of the unit. It also developed the clicking (relays?) described by another person. The manual is of little help as it is hopelessly user unfriendly.

Denon AVR-1910

D. Andrews, Amazon
20 January 2011
  • Summary: In December 2009 we purchased a new 46" HD TV and were told that we also would need an HD receiver. Our receiver at that time was an Onkyo that we had had for many years and although it was still working beautifully, it was not HD compatible. So, the salesperson recommended the Denon to us.

A dynamic unit!

teetertotter, Amazon
17 September 2010
  • Summary: I have purchased Yamaha receivers, 5.1, with the last purchase 2005. I was looking to upgrade with HDMI inputs and eliminate a bunch of cables. After reading the current reviews on the Yamaha, entry level, I went on a search for other brands. After reading the review for Denon's 1910 on [...

Died after 3 years

LM, Amazon
17 September 2010
  • Summary: Bought in April 2010, died in August 2013. I find myself almost mirroring another reviewer who hated the same things I did. The only thing bad about this thing dying on me is that I spent $400 on it and now I've got a $400 nothing.

setup is a pain but worth it

Seth W. Turnbo, Amazon
17 September 2010
  • Summary: I had a bad review posted and I could not change the star so I removed so I could be correct. This is a great machine, frustrating on setup even more so than what would be normal for casual tech person but with some practice you will get it.

  • Summary: Check out the savings at Electronics expo! Used coupon code WS901X5750 and got the Denon for under $400.00.This is a great receiver. The 1910 powers my Paradigm monitors and sound far better then my Onkyo did.
