Common failure of Denon AVR-1905 surround sound functions
13 March 2015
Summary: Potential buyers of this receiver in 2015 as "used" should be very careful. I bought one and then discovered that the DSP board (digital sound processor) was functionally dead. If one searches this and gets past the advertisments and puff-piece reviews to the tech-forums, one discovers this problem...
Denon makes excellent quality electronics and that's all I purchase.

Summary: The receiver arrived in a few days, faster than I expected. The unit works well, but I was little surprised to find a few scratches on the faceplate, but the I could not be happier with the performance of the receiver. The unit is very similar to another Denon I own, so set up was easy.
Summary: So far so good. It doesn't have HDMI, but that wasn't a requirement to me and quite frankly doesn't matter. I hook my HDMI to my TV and then run a single optical cord to the receiver, and voila! This was the perfect upgrade for me and being a loyal Yamaha fan, I was hesitant to buy anything but.
Summary: I really enjoy my AVR-1905. However, after less than 1.5 years I lost the left channel on the analogue audio. My attempts to contact Denon USA customer service were completely frustrating: long--we're talking about 25-30 minutes--periods on hold, then, once getting someone to pick up--if anyone...
Be cautious about going Denon until you do some research

Summary: Just learned that Denon,of which I own a high end cassette deck, has outsourced its parts and accessories to a company in Florida. This may or may not be a good thing, but I do not like being referred by DNN holdings to another place when I just want to buy a remote control for one of their cassette...
Summary: I am extremely happy that I chose Denon AVR-1905. It is more than an entry-level receiver that offers 7.1 output and plenty of connections. I have it hooked up in 6.1 mode and it sounds awesome. Component video up-conversion is a blessing while connecting to your T.V.
Summary: Salve a tutti.
Summary: Dopo circa 4 anni son riuscito finalmente a trovare il successore del mio ampli Marantz. Cercavo un ampli che avesse un discreto numero di ingressi, in special modo digitali, ed avesse le uscite video non solamente in composito o S-Video ma anche in component.
